WikiCup 2011 September newsletter edit

We are on this year's home straight, with less than a month to go until the winner of the 2011 WikiCup will be decided. The fight for first place is currently being contested by   Miyagawa (submissions),   Hurricanehink (submissions) and   Sp33dyphil (submissions), all of whom have over 200 points. This round has already seen multiple featured articles (1991 Atlantic hurricane season from Hurricanehink and Northrop YF-23 from Sp33dyphil) and a double-scoring featured list (Miyagawa's 1948 Summer Olympics medal table). The scores will likely increase far further before the end of the round on October 31 as everyone ups their pace. There is not much more to say- thoughts about next year's competition are welcome on the WikiCup talk page or the scoring talk page, and signups will open once a few things have been sorted out.

If you are concerned that your nomination, be it at good article candidates, a featured process or anywhere else, will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Motto of the Day Motto Shop edit

Hello! My name is Belugaboy, and by now, you and I both have heard of the Motto Shop, and if not, there's a Motto Shop! It's an exclusive place where users can get their own motto to live by on the wiki. It's great, but we're really running slow, in fact, we haven't seen a customer in months. So we thought YOU, the contributors to Motto of the Day, could spread the word to your WikiFriends, heck, order yourself one, whether you have or haven't before. Thank you and warm regards to all of you!

Gotta be honest edit

Doing and album article is so much harder then doing a song arcticle. "Sparks Fly" is already to a B-class and that's cause me and you both went at it and stopped vandalism on it, etc. We pretty much did that one with no problems. The album pages there's more work for those then there are for a song one, X_X someone shoot me LOL! JamesAlan1986 *talk 20:01, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Then what the heck is wrong with I Need You (album)? I've been working on it and adding what I've been told to ask and something's wrong and I still can't figure out what cause none of it makes sense. JamesAlan1986 *talk 21:03, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Okay thanks bud :) I really want to get it to a GA article. It is my favorite album after all by Rimes. ^_^ JamesAlan1986 *talk 10:41, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Would you like to give an opinion on this? JamesAlan1986 *talk 08:57, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey status I REALLY need your opinion this I know you may not agree but you at least won't bash me and personally attack me like other users on here have. JamesAlan1986 *talk 18:55, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

K. Thanks bud. :) JamesAlan1986 *talk 19:52, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

In a nutshell either use hatnotes on all that have the same situation or not at all like how Taylor has "Speak Now" the song and Speak Now the album and it needs a hatnote cause of it, So does LeAnn Rimes, she has a song called "I Need You" and an album called I Need You. Just cause one says "I Need You (album)" and the other says "I Need You (LeAnn Rimes song)" what's the difference? They're both by her and fit the same hatenote idea as Speak Now. And with the song titles that are called "I Need You" well if you look at I Need You there are only at least 9 pages of them and the rest of have none but yet that breaks Wikipedia:NAMB when it doesn't say anywhere that none of them should but this one freakin' user doesn't seem to see it. JamesAlan1986 *talk 20:24, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Does that make any sense? JamesAlan1986 *talk 20:35, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

LeAnn Rimes edit

Got a thought here can we keep it at the 2002 release and try to reach a consensus on the talk page? Cause I personally don't think with Rimes disowning the 2001 release that that should be the release date. JamesAlan1986 *talk 20:41, 8 October 2011 (UTC) Also what is this talking about??? JamesAlan1986 *talk 20:51, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The image must be posted under a previously deleted file OOPS! LOL! JamesAlan1986 *talk 20:55, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Here's my personal opinion on the album. I think they weren't suppose to release anything while they were in court and they did anyway and that broke her contract with them which is why she had to resign it. JamesAlan1986 *talk 21:03, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Here it is when Rimes filed a lawsuit against her label she was asking "that Curb give Rimes the rights to all past recordings and videos, give up all publishing interests in her compositions and destroy all currently available recordings." That was right here on MTV.com JamesAlan1986 *talk 21:26, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

LOL! You kill me! JamesAlan1986 *talk 21:28, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

How does that look? What I posted in the background? JamesAlan1986 *talk 21:38, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I feel proud of myself for find that lol! So what more do you think the page needs to get to be a GA? JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:03, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I'd ask Nano but I don't think he's been on recently. JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:05, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think after the live album comes out. I still feel it maybe too early and it'll get rejected. JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:07, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

But if you think it's ready then we should go for it. JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:12, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Yeah there is one thing that probably needs removed that damn package that Swift released after the Sparks Fly single package was discontinued all three single (Mean, The Story of Us & Sparks Fly) were packaged in that new package but now it only shows The Story of Us (now). JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:16, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Do you think I should go ahead and remove it? JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:20, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't know the more I think about it the more I don't think I should. It does state that only 2500 copies of the single was made so it'd be obvious that they ran out. JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:24, 8 October 2011 (UTC) True LOL! JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:27, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Can you go fix that sentence about that package I added the Mean CD single as when I found the reference it was originally posted on there but now I think it seems grammatically incorrect. JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:30, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Question. Now that we found out that the 2001 album wasn't suppose to be released what about the singles? Should they be removed? JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:40, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

For arguments sack lets make sure I'm getting it. Blue (LeAnn Rimes album) should have a hatnote as the song page is also called Blue (LeAnn Rimes song). Right? JamesAlan1986 *talk 22:45, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Look okay? JamesAlan1986 *talk 23:22, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oh crap. I just remembered I'm planning on getting the "Written in the Stars" CD single (or borrowing the Adia concept album from the library) and the Jesus soundtrack to add more Personnel from them as they'll have that information, like the Coyote Ugly soundtrack did for "Can't Fight the Moonlight" and "But I Do Love You". JamesAlan1986 *talk 23:53, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sparks Fly (song) edit

The CD single was later reissued to another package that is exclusive to Swift's official store. In the package you chose between "Sparks Fly", "The Story of Us", or the "Mean" CD singles and the Target exclusive deluxe edition of Speak Now and a free pair of headphones are included with one of the CD singles.

Can you fix that it's driving me nuts. I think it's grammatically incorrect. JamesAlan1986 *talk 23:05, 8 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

MW edit

I'm doing great! How are you buddy? Lol, I did start work! Finally! LOL! Btw, yes, I did want to craft a composition section, but then if we did, we should include the musical analysis of all the songs in the album? Shouldn't we? If that's okay with you, we can create one. I'll take a look at "When I Grow Up" too :) Novice7 (talk) 11:24, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

We can use that and expand the composition section! Cool! I hope the article turns out the way we want it to :) Novice7 (talk) 03:48, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
We need more interviews, yes! The iTunes one: she does not speak anything about "Supergirl", I think. We need information on that. It's important too. I'm searching everywhere for it. The only thing I found is that it was used in Candie campaign :( Novice7 (talk) 15:19, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Unrelated question: have you listened to Faith Hill songs? Novice7 (talk) 16:33, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm currently obsessed with this woman! LOL! I've got her songs on repeat and my head is full of her songs at the moment. So, you have listened to her song(s)? Which one(s)? Novice7 (talk) 16:37, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Lemme guess: Aqua? Avril? Hilary? Ooh, Faith's amazing! Her music is almost like Shania's but not that, I don't know... something is different. I love Shania too, but Faith's ma girl! Listen to a few songs :) Maybe, Cry album or Breathe album. Fireflies is all country music :) Novice7 (talk) 16:45, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
LMFAO (for a second I thought you were referring to this LMFAO, LMFAO). Hmm, I have heard of those bands, never heard any songs of theirs :) Novice7 (talk) 16:56, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Avril Lavigne and Epic Records edit

Please see the discussion on the Avril Lavigne talk page regarding Lavigne's move to Epic Records. There has been some slight edit warring going on between multiple parties so discussion should be completed before editing of the record label continues. State your opinions on the subject here to establish a consensus on what to include in the article and when. Thanks. =D ~ [ Scott M. Howard ] ~ [ Talk ]:[ Contribs ] ~ 17:29, 9 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speak Now edit

I put a request move on the page to move it to Speak Now album as there's also the "Speak Now (song)". JamesAlan1986 *talk 01:30, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks I figured it shouldn't which is why I put in the discussion I just figured cause of Sparks Fly (album) being moved cause of the Sparks Fly (song) same idea but I'd rather have asked before doing it. JamesAlan1986 *talk 01:38, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gotcha. I did move 2 without talking cause I had legit reasons to move them Sittin' on Top of the World (LeAnn Rimes album) I moved to Sittin' on Top of the World (album) as there's no other albums under that name. And I took Written in the Stars (LeAnn Rimes and Elton John song) and switch it to Written in the Stars (Elton John and LeAnn Rimes song) as Rimes didn't release it he did and personally I think it should be Written in the Stars (Elton John song) but that's me. JamesAlan1986 *talk 01:50, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Just making conversation edit

You know I'm not gonna lie but I'm really proud of how "Sparks Fly" turned out. ^_^ JamesAlan1986 *talk 02:59, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

That's for certain. But me and you pulled it together and made it a very good article. I'm so proud of it...LOL! ^_^ JamesAlan1986 *talk 03:05, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't know. It is weird course I don't know where to find the charts for any other country. Billboard.com hasn't even had much on it. Not much on it but there is a chart on there that hasn't been posted I just found it. http://www.billboard.com/#/song/taylor-swift/sparks-fly/23364136 It's number 46 on the Radio Songs chart. JamesAlan1986 *talk 03:11, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

What is Radio Songs? I don't understand that at all?!?!?! JamesAlan1986 *talk 03:16, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oh well I made mention of it anyway didn't post it in the chart position section but it's another thing to add. Remember the Australian chart position we kept reverting because there was no source? I wonder if there's a source for that yet? JamesAlan1986 *talk 03:21, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Any luck finding other charts? JamesAlan1986 *talk 04:16, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

That sucks. Oh and with Can't Fight the Moonlight that wasn't me. Those offical remixes were there prior to I just never deleted them cause I didn't want to start an edit war with someone so I never removed them. JamesAlan1986 *talk 04:20, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why is that the "it" thing? JamesAlan1986 *talk 04:23, 10 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hey Zach. This pic: I think the song she's performing is "Wake Up"? Do you know which is it? Novice7 (talk) 10:31, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I haven't checked the fansites. I viewed some video clips like this one. It's the same outfit! I'm not sure if that's the song she's performing on the pic though. Btw, the above clip is lipped :( She sang live on the Dignity Tour. "So Yesterday" remix is awesome! Novice7 (talk) 11:17, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have to pickup both Elixir and Devoted. I read the reviews and they seem very interesting! :D Novice7 (talk) 11:18, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
We'll go with "Wake Up" :) The books seem very interesting!! I'm gonna order right away :D She's gonna do one more book for the trilogy! And, she was going to record songs for a new album, but then got preggo :( I'm very disappointed! I loved Dignity and Metamorphosis. Hilary Duff was good too, but then it was too pop rock for my liking. Back to Most Wanted: I threw in information about the remixes and hidden track to make a new section :) I have to say big thanks to you Zach. You're the one who started working on it first. Without your message, I'd have never started work on the album lol. Novice7 (talk) 11:28, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I wanna hear some new music from Hilary too! I wanted to do separate sections too, but just like you, I felt that it'd all end up becoming too much and undue :| I have to expand Chart performance, lead, singles and tour section now. Can you do the tour section? You were working on an article for Most Wanted/Still Most Wanted tours, right? Novice7 (talk) 11:56, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
(edit conflict) Thanks! I'm going to complete the Chart performance section now :) OOh, I can't wait to see the final result! :D Btw, do you have the Collector's edition of MW? "Supergirl" songwriters: Wiki article says Greg and Kara while BMI says Hil, Greg and Kara! Novice7 (talk) 12:01, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'll try to find something too. Like you said, we'll keep it aside and will add it if we get more information :) Novice7 (talk) 12:31, 15 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

No Me Ames edit

I don't know if you were aware, but "No Me Ames" was sourced in regards to being #1 in Latin Songs which passes WP:NSONGS and is eligible for being included in the charts. Erick (talk) 20:43, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Here you a go, a pic of a CD single. Oh and I want to apologize about my attitude earlier. I've had a real-life stress but I'm better now after doing a walk. Erick (talk) 21:57, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
I actually a Mexican promo. At any rate, it charted on the Latin Songs and wouldn't be on the Latin Songs chart if it wasn't a single since it deals with airplay as well. Even Allmusic lists it under "Billboard Singles". I'll keep searching if necessary on her discography page. Erick (talk) 22:06, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Did you show the Billboard singlesas well? Was Allmusic turned as well? If so, then I have a problem because just about Latin song released as a single charts on the Latin Songs chart look at the Category:Billboard Hot Latin Tracks number-one singles, if "No Me Ames" is not counted as a single, then how I can be sure the others can be? Erick (talk) 22:21, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, if you look at any week for Latin Songs, it says "The week's most popular regional Mexican, Latin pop, tropical and Latin rhythm songs, ranked by radio airplay audience impressions across those formats as measured by Nielsen BDS". It's looking more to me that it was released as an airplay format since that's how most Latin Songs are charted especially in the 1980s and 1990s. Erick (talk) 22:28, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yep I know exactly what you mean. Latin Songs, don't really say the exactly, so I say it's better to look for the debut month. Also, here's what the Billboard magazine has to say: "duet single", and from I've been reading the Billboard magazines, it was released as a radio airplay like in this source. Erick (talk) 22:43, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

So, what's the verdict then? A single that was released and based on radio airplay just like Ciara's "Like a Surgeon"? Erick (talk) 00:46, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Erick (talk) 02:32, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well I'm just glad we able to work this out. Good luck on your FL! :) Erick (talk) 03:19, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re: Red Piano Europe, Greatest Hits Tour edit

You are beginning to try my patience, deleting my pages. If you cared to look at the sources and references you would have found that they are not fake or incorrect or whatever reason you seem to find to delete them. The same with the Million Dollar Piano setlist. I changed the source to prove which sections of the show were which and you still changed it back, if you look at the source it tells you that information BobDylanFan1994 (talk) 14:07, 21 October 2011 (GMT)

A track back for all access edit

While this doesn't show release dates, it shows songs which were recently released to urban radio, so now if there are questions, they can be confirmed: http://www.allaccess.com/urban/cool-new-music — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.79.88.109 (talk) 00:49, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's reliable source for a single (however it's a promo-single: look "TRACKS" and "AVAILABLE ON FOLLOWING MEDIA").

WT:DISCOGSTYLE proposal edit

Hello Status, I noticed you're a member of the discography wikiproject and I was wondering if you could help with the two discussions going on here and here. That would be gladly appreciated! User:The Rambling Man has brought up some good topics and is trying to reach consensus. If you don't want to, that's fine. I understand. Have a good day, though!

BOO! edit

Hey Zach, guess who's back! LOL! JamesAlan1986 12:10, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I sorry :(. Hey I need your help. "The Story of Us" is almost ready for a GA but the critical reception needs to be extended. Any suggestions where I should look? I already got Taste of Country. JamesAlan1986 14:56, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

K, talk to you then Zach. JamesAlan1986 15:02, 25 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Updates edit

The Story of Us (song) has been nominated for a GA review. Keep your fingers crossed. Also, I added the re-entry position to Sparks Fly (song) as it was mentioned the song re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 but there was no posting of it's chart position and the Chart does say 2010-11. It's currently Peaking at 50 in the re-entry but I'm gonna leave it up to you whether that stays or goes. It's in the Chart section. Whatever you chose to do I will follow. JamesAlan1986 10:04, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's okay bud. I found all I could and posted it so hopefully it'll be done. And saw what you did with Sparks Fly that's cool. I wondered but then of course I wasn't sure but you gotta try at some points even if you get it wrong you can't learn otherwise LOL! JamesAlan1986 10:39, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I haven't decided yet on that. I've been considering just redoing it but for now I'm having it redirect to my talk page. The other reason I haven't decided yet is cause I've been busy working on updates that I found that I mentioned to you in my e-mail and fixing Rimes' discography as it's been a mess. For some reason because "Some People" was released as the final single for This Woman they decided to post it by album instead of actually release chronology. So that's been a mess to fix plus other things were posted that would confuse the heck out of anyone. Eg. "Put a Little Holiday in Your Heart" charting in 1997 & 1998 but considered part of her God Bless America album which was released in 2001?!?! The reason it charted like that was cause of the CD single released along side Blue during the 1996 Christmas Holiday at Target. So technically is a part of Blue not God Bless America. Talk about a messed up discography lol! JamesAlan1986 10:56, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

LOL! Hint taken there bud and I see what I can do with it now. ^_^ JamesAlan1986 11:03, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

If you want, check out Rimes' discography and tell me what you think. If there's edits you're more then welcome to fix it. ^_^ JamesAlan1986 11:38, 26 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

My brother edit

Hey Zach, my brother's doing fine, he pulled out an hour after they finished the surgery. My mom kept saying "Of course he'd make a liar out of me." and I told her "Would you rather he pulled out faster then you thought or not at all?" but he's fine. I'm so glad. It was hard to see him in the hospital though all prepped for surgery. When my mom and my sister went out to go talk, I was talking to him and I told him how much I loved him and that I had worried about him all month and he took his good and and literally went and grabbed mine and held it. I almost cried. You see my brother is mentally 2 years old due to what my dad beating him in the head when he's 18 months old and so he's brain dead on the right side. So he's left side is completely paralyzed. But I wouldn't trade him for the world. That moment was the greatest I'd ever had with him. He was trying to comfort me. He even told me he was nervous. I am so happy he pulled out. But I'd thought I'd let you know he pulled out and he's doing good. I just heard from my mom and the group home that takes care told her he's doing good. JamesAlan1986 12:40, 29 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Zach. ^_^ JamesAlan1986 22:14, 29 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Re: Speedy Deletion of Greatest Hits Live (tour) edit

In a direct quote from the '2012 Tour' section it says: "Elton and the band will return to Honolulu's Blaisdell Arena on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 8pm, performing their Greatest Hits Live concert."

This page in neither fake nor a hoax. If you bothered to look at even some of the references you'd see that. But it seems, Status, you are incapable of doing this.

Greatest Hits Live Refs edit

If you'd care to have looked these are all references that are on the page. You can look yourself, here's a handful:

The first two shows of the tour: http://web.eltonjohn.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20101206&contentid=16260214 http://web.eltonjohn.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20101202&contentid=16241138

I do not understand what you're not getting here, and don't bullshit to me, you haven't read all the sources because 99% mention that: Elton John will perform in (Specific State/Country) as part of the 'Greatest Hits Live' concert.

Greatest Hits Live edit

I agree! I apologize for getting irate but I put a lot of time and effort into these pages. Which are the unreliable sources?
