Hi, Staroftheshow86, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

Additional tips edit

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Diocesan Infobox edit

To the Members of the WikiProject Catholicism

I have proposed at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Catholicism an infobox for Catholic Dioceses. I have not gotten any feedback on this proposal, so I’m culling feedback, advice, corrections, etc. for this. If you have the time, would you check out User:SkierRMH/Diocese_Infobox and give me some feedback! Thanks much!!

Error in your welcome edit

Hi, I just happened to notice that the welcome message at the start of your talk page had an error in it that cause all the text on the rest of the page (except links) to appear as white-on-white text, which was fairly hard to read. I assumed this was not actually what you wanted, so I went ahead and fixed the problem. I apologize if my assumption was incorrect, and will be happy to restore your page to a state of unreadability upon request. :) cheers, Xtifr tälk 03:22, 23 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Talk:New Orleans Square edit

Thank you for your contributions to Talk:New Orleans Square. I noticed that you add this page to the New Orleans Project page. I am wondering if this is an appropriate inclusion. Thanks. Tiggerjay 03:21, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

No particular concern. Just a general question. One of the primary things I wanted to check to be sure that it wasn't added my mistake. Say a BOT or other quick edit by simply searching for New Orleans. But it appears that it was added intentionally and with good reason. So you can disregard my comment/question. Tiggerjay 20:06, 6 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

A suggestion edit

Regarding Template:Archdiocese of New Orleans: The template seem very large, particularly on small articles, where it seems to swallow up the page. Might it be better to set its default to "hide"? I don't know how to do this, but I've seen it on other such templates and I thought it might be easier on the eyes. Just a thought, I don't know how to make such changes myself, though I'm sure I could figure it out; either way, I wanted to run it by you first. Baronplantagenet 22:45, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yat (New Orleans) edit

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Yat (New Orleans), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
