Spam edit

Dear Shadow,

I apologize if this isn't the way to contact you, but I don't know the little dealings of Wikipedia. In regards to my "spam," I understand the link I provided was not direct, but I was simply trying to help a friend earn referrals for the street team (and would have deleted them soon enough). I apologize if it's come off as spam (even though the links go to the official site, and were given by the street team themselves). However, I'm writing you b/c you deleted what I wrote, which happens to be true. I'm especially hurt that you deleted the LPTV page I made, since I know that information to be 100% accurate (I have the DVD of it). I own a Linkin Park fansite (www.lpassociation.com), and think it was wrong of you to delete perfectly good information on the touring info--which came from the mouth of a band member and is available for your listening pleasure at the following location: source

Anywho, I'd love if you put the info back up. You deleted everything I wrote before I even had the chance to correctly link to other pages. And try to be a little gentler; you're not always dealing with people your age, or people who know the ins and outs of this community.

Best regards.

Edit: Thanks for the speedy, and helpful remarks. Pick Michigan.

Greeting edit

I am User:Spidermanfan94. I have been doing my reasearch on Wikipedia for quite some time now! A few weeks ago, one of my good friends insisted that I use Wikipedia with a username. The person who I am speaking of is Narutochic3000. You may remember editing things she wrote a few times. Anyways, She got a message on her Talk page as soon as she signed on. I've got nothing. Thus I was wondering if we could be Wikipedia pen pals? I saw your page and it thought You and me would get along well if we talked on Wikipedia. We have a lot in common if you look at my page. I am for Da Bears. We could talk football in the offseason and through the 2007-2008 Bears season.

With all due respect, --Spider-Man Fan 1994 19:11, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

Quick Message edit

Hey thanks for the message. I am working on a big school project right now. It is worth many points and I can't afford to lose them. If I do, I will flunk 3rd quarter. So Urlacher didn't go to Hawaii for the pro bowl? The NFC is lucky to have a punter like Robbie Gould though. Did you hear that Tank Johnson was charged guilty. The court in Chicago is still finding a punishment for him. I hope he will be able to play next season.

Your page says that you live in Chicago. I was born in Chicago but I moved a few years ago. Do you think Chicago would be a good place for the 2016 Olympics. I've always wanted Chicago to look better than it has in the past few years (including the fact that Chicago was 2006's fattest American city) BS! Chicago needs a different perspective on how it looks today. Thus, They should place it there to show we are very athletic americans. Through the scandals Mayor Daley put up with, Chicagoans should reelect him this year so he can fight for Chicago to be recognized as an athletic urban area. (NO OFFENSE TO CHICAGO).

I got to get back to my project. Talk to you soon.

From,

--Spider-Man Fan 1994 21:34, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

P.S. Will you try to guide me in placing pictures in articles? I have tried several times on my hometown's article and it didn't work both times.

Images edit

I tried it again and it wouldn't work. let me try again and i'll get back to you in the next few days.

--Spider-Man Fan 1994 19:35, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

P.S. What do you mean by an extension??

Long Time no Talk edit

Sorry I haven't written in a while. I have been very busy.

SOOOOOOO, do you like The Simpsons? It is one of my favorite shows on TV. I am also a fan of That 70s Show, The Teletubbies(yeah right. That is one of the stupidest show on TV. It is so stupid that Comcast is suing the British for putting them in their stomachs), and I like Family Guy.

What do you like?

Talk to you soon, --Spider-Man Fan 1994 18:18, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I have been Busy. I have to do another big project. I have to show off a talent of mine. And make a poster board about it. I don't care about the showing off part. I just can't understand the poster board part.

Tank Johnson's in jail. They put him in for 120 days. Lovie and Urlacher came to testify at his trial but they didn't help him. He'll just miss the mini-camp and may possibly miss the preseason. They're suspending him for 4 games. I don't think they'll release him though.

Well that's about it. talk to you later. --Spider-Man Fan 1994 17:16, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Ron Rivera edit

So, you're the Jester that's been deleting the Ron Rivera image. Who do you think you are? Just joking, I understand. The important thing is that we both have one thing in common. "Chicago Bears" all the way! Man, what a game. Tony the Marine 03:17, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • It would be great if you can upload Ron's image. Hey, after the SuperBowl we'll get in touch to celebrate the Bears Championship, either that or you'll see a grown Marine cry. Tony the Marine 03:44, 23 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thanks for the warning me about that flickr user. Although I was skeptical that the user was the actual author of the photo I took him at his word. I know better now. I also removed the Muhsin Muhammad photo I got from him and marked both of them for deletion. Thanks again. Quadzilla99 04:58, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I'll notify an admin over there on Commons and get him to delete them. Quadzilla99 05:02, 28 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chicago Bears edit

Was there really a point to removing the {{sprotected}} tag from the Chicago Bears article? The article will likely be renominated for protection regardless of the outcome of Super Bowl XLI (Roughly before the game's 4th quarter) ;-) --  ShadowJester07  ►Talk  03:07, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Superbowl XLI edit

Hester's performance in the game is notable, also the game is notable and the sub-section I created to his Career provides a place for other people to contribute to the article, as they already did. I would like to put it back. Bob -  uriel8  (talk) 02:30, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I think that you should put the sub-section for the SB back as it is reasonable and others want to comment as they have already done. The fact that Hester was "shut down", as you say, has no relevance.

OK. I agree. I guess the couple of sentences about his SB XLI have gotten in there now somewhere. If you think Hester justifies a Superbowls section later on, and he has any more, please consider putting one in. Thanks, Bob -  uriel8  (talk) 03:18, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Too bad about the Bears, Hester's work, etc. I honestly thought we had it in the bag at the opening! Oh well. Where did that momentem go, anyway? Nice rainstorm in Miami, tho LOL. I guess they won't be using Miami again soon :-( It seemed like the team with the best cleats won. I liked how the Colts owner mentioned Katrina relief right away at the closing ceremony. That was classy considering the current fate of N.O. Tony Dungy looked great and got acoladed a lot about being a cool coach. I guess maybe it paid off, in a way for him. Also, Lovie is pretty cool. I guess both of these teams are kind of special. Bob in vegas -  uriel8  (talk) 03:41, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:RexGtv.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:RexGtv.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof 09:05, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've also marked the following photos as replaceable: Image:Si0050495.jpg, Image:BrianUNM.JPG, Image:Rdavis chargers.jpg. I guess I disagree with your labeling the photos as "historic", and whether these photos are absolutely necessary to describe the subjects. Mosmof 09:14, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I want to apologize for editing out your super bowl game summary. edit mine all you want, i just thought it was more (maybe a little too) detailed. i guess we were doing it at the same time. i think that combining our summaries will turn out the best one possible. Brady Quinn article. edit

Hi ShadowJester07,

I appreciate you efforts in trying to maintain the use of correct images. It is possible that you failed to see the wording which I had added last year when the image was included:

"At the start of the 2006 season Brady Quinn was featured along with two other ND players (Travis Thomas (26) and Tom Zbikowski (9)) on the Preview issue of Sports Illustrated. His senior year as the Fighting Irish QB had the focus of a large part of the NCAA Football fanbase because of this article."

This seems to have been adequate through a large number of edits during Dec-Feb, but if I am incorrect, please let me know.

Take care,

Larry

Hi ShadowJester07,

Thanks for your response! I appreciate your restoring the image and placeing it where it needed to be. Actually, if you look at my edit on January 4th[1], I'd moved the image to be with the text, albeit on the left side of the page.

Take care,

Larry

STARS article - Brad Vickers edit

The comment should be removed altogether. The Nemesis impaled Brad through the mouth and out of the back of the throat, missing the brain entirely. There is no information to suggest that an injury of this type would prove fatal for a zombie (Brad might have trouble swallowing his food, but not much else, I'd imagine). Gamer Junkie 17:40, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'm kinda through editing that article, as it'd probably be removed by Jonny 2x4, anyway. As long as somebody's still editing it, might as well offer some thoughts here and there. Gamer Junkie 18:09, 11 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Joey Harrington Image edit

Why did you remove the Joey Harrington image from his page? I was under the impression that images from Flickr.com were acceptable.

Michael Jordan edit

An editor has made a request that MJ be peer reviewed. I thought I'd notify you as you work on the page a lot and might want to check in to see any issues that need addressing. Quadzilla99 16:17, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

They're cited perfectly fine edit

I use the format on FA Wayne Gretzky the editor may prefer WP:CITET which are completely optional. A lot of people like those better, however on WP:CITET it states explicitly "The use of Citation templates is not required by WP:CITE and is neither encouraged nor discouraged by any other Wikipedia citation guidelines. They may be used at the discretion of individual editors, subject to agreement with the other editors on the article. Some editors find them helpful, while other editors find them annoying, particularly when used inline in the text. Because they are optional, editors should not change articles from one style to the other without consensus."

That is all I can think of. Either he misunderstood the policy or purposely misstated it to due to his own personal preferences. You could just ask him. Quadzilla99 02:04, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually maybe he's referring to the fact that you call websites by their print name. You'd have to ask him. Quadzilla99 02:06, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ie Chicagotribune.com instead of Chicago Tribune perhaps. Quadzilla99 02:06, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I meant to say "Ie use chicagotribune.com instead of Chicago Tribune" which you should do unless it's a direct reprint or archived verions of a print article. Quadzilla99 02:24, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

No problem. At least you were consistent ;-).

Mancow edit

SJ, have you looked at the Cow page on this site lately? Someone's trying to butcher his page down to a size no one can respect. Look at Howard Stern's page and Mancow's page from this time yesterday. Stern's page has links to all his crew, pictures of him and his show and all kinds of detailed information that with Cow's page, they're trying to rip off of and delete. Is it me or do I detect bias? Your edits to Lisa Trevor edit

Hi! I see you completely rewrote the Background section of the article on Lisa Trevor. You removed a lot of information, particularly about the experiments, Lisa's obsession with her mother and how Umbrella "got rid of her". Are you sure it was a change for the better? RE: Anthony Adams edit

Anthony Adams a fullback? That's news to me. Have you read something indicating the Bears may use him as such? ►xanderer  21:50, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, it was a shocker to me too. Apparently SF used to use him as a FB in short yardage situations. Please See Adams prepared to tackle new challenge with Bears --  ShadowJester07  ►Talk  22:32, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Free agents on NFL rosters edit

Keeping unrestricted free agents on NFL team rosters is a dumb idea.Chris Nelson 02:34, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you don't know football well enough to know what an unrestricted free agent is (which is basically 2+2=4 as far as football knowledge goes) then why do you even edit things like that here?Chris Nelson 02:46, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Obviously anyone can edit anything. But I wouldn't go edit articles about subjects I don't know enough about, for the good of the community and the readers. Makes sense to me.Chris Nelson 03:21, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
