Orphaned fair use image (Image:NSiderSS.jpg) edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:NSiderSS.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 22:31, 3 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

On Dark Samus edit

I see your point, and I'm sorry if I was adding a bunch of unnecessary bulk; as you said, I am fairly new here. Just one thing: in the section about DS using portals, you said "riffs." It's "rifts." Not to nag, just wanted to let you know.

Thanks for the help.

Why? edit

I'm just wondering, why did you revert my recent edits to slipknot (band)? Wildnox 04:09, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's no problem really, the funny part is if you look, you reverted back to his edit. I was worried that my edits might of been mistaken for vandalism, as the majority of edits involving genre on slipknot (band) are vandalism. I assure you though, mine are not, a little bold maybe but bold is good :) .Wildnox 04:32, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rap edit

I see you've relinked your user page to Rap, which is a Wikipedia:disambiguation page. Unless you really intended on linking to a dab page, I suggest you link to either Rapping or Hip hop music. Dreadlocke 06:36, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Chad Johnson edit

You should take it to the talk page before deleting 90% of an article as "Trivial Cruft". I disagree with your assessment and have the right mind to revert your changes. I'll give you a chance to justify your action on the talk page before I do so. VegaDark 01:14, 15 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Camp Hyrule edit

Why delete the part about The Lost Woods acting as a hub for trivia rounds? Discussion of Zelda games rarely, if ever, occurs in The Lost Woods. L.W. serves two real purposes: acting as the site for TSA's Zelda-themed trivia, and acting as a place where users hold their own, independent trivia rounds. --PsychoYoshi 01:43, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Discussion" is a pretty foggy term for "trivia". It could mean absolutely anything under the sun about the Zelda series, even though such talk ouside of trivia rarely occurs. In addition, while trivia could indeed be held in the other chats, and has been on a sporadic basis, upstart hosts have been regularly having their rounds in the Lost Woods on regular intervals for several years. --PsychoYoshi 17:31, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Thanks for largely maintaining the integrity of this page. I do have one question, though about the addition of images. How do you go about getting the copyright on some of these images you have put up? I am asking you because you have placed images before. And looking through wikipedia's intructions, I can only surmise they are printing the instructions in Greek.

I have used {{promotional}} and {{fanpage}}, and also included a link to where I found the image. But sometimes the images get deleted anyway. -- maddawg1967--

Chicago Bears images edit

None of the images used in the Chicago Bears website are promotional. Most are strongly copyrighted by Getty Images, Associatted Press and others and they can't be used in wikipedia. It's better off to try to take an image of the Bears players yourself if possible and release it under an free licence. Thanks 216.189.165.232 03:30, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Walter Payton photo edit

Hi,

FYI, you incorrectly applied the 'sportsposter' tag to a Walter Payton photo you uploaded. That tag is for posters that are promoting a sports event (upcoming). The tag is not for ordinary sports photos that happen to have been put on a poster. I removed the tag and put the 'fair use disputed' tag on the photo - as noted above, nearly all sports photos out there are not legitimate fair use on Wikipedia. Grossman edit

Ah, good you've removed Smith, at least now your point is remotely defensible, if nonetheless ludicrous.

A 36 is noteworthy, when that 36 belongs to what is currently the QB of the best team in the NFL. If what you do with your life is babysit this page to make sure good information isn't added to it, you're doing a good job. Just use a spellcheck in the future, if that's the best you've got to offer...

And maybe don't reinsert any more run-on sentences, as I've already corrected a goofy knee-jerk reversion of yours in a previous edit.DBaba 04:31, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good work on images edit

Hi ShadowJester. I've come across a few images tonight from which you've removed obviously fraudulent licenses tempates. Keep up the good work! If you could take things one step further in the future, please add {{subst:nld}} ("no license day") to the bottom of the description pages. This puts them on a 7-day track to deletion, and signals Orphanbot to remove it from articles and notify the uploader (in case you have not). Best regards. ×Meegs 11:57, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Be careful when editing edit

Please be careful when editing to not delete categories and interwiki links when you're intending to remove other text, as you did here in this diff on tight end: [1]. —Lowellian (reply) 09:57, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Dustybakercub.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Dustybakercub.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you. Copyright problems with Image:36762581 0532d3df8b.jpg edit

An image that you uploaded, Image:36762581 0532d3df8b.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Copyright problems because it is a suspected copyright violation. Please look there if you know that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), and then provide the necessary information there and on its page, if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Image:TomWad.JPG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:TomWad.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MECUtalk 01:16, 21 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

I should post you this edit

The producer of the website claimed fair use for the photos, so it wouldn't be likely that the owner took the image herself.[2] --Kzrulzuall 04:18, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cites to NFL stats edit

I copy-edited the Drew Brees page and added a footnote reference to the stats pages at NFL.com. I then saw that you have removed similar references from the same spot several times already, most recently on Dec. 30 with the explanation, "Stand Alone Stat tables may not be used as sources." Can you please explain to this relative newbie: Why not? Is there a standing Wikipedia policy on this that you can point me to?

If it helps, I used the page at NFL.com that is specific to 2006 regular season statistics. Those statistics are not going to change.

The Drew Brees page really does need a lot more work. Thanks for keeping an eye on it. US 30 23:48, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your edit to Talk:Slurpee edit

I reverted your edit. Yes, it is a pointless conversation, but you didn't remove the whole conversation. Furthermore, I'm not sure that WP:NOT applies to talk pages. WP:DFTT might apply more. I support removing the whole conversation as pointless, but I can't support your edit as it stands. --Mdwyer 20:18, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I thought User:67.175.138.202 started the discussion (I failed the see the rest of it as I was using WP Pop-Ups). I believe WP:NOT states that Wikipedia is not a discussion forum, WP:NOT#FORUM. The whole conversation is not really questioning the article, or providing any critical commentary, so it should likely be removed ;)⋅ --  ShadowJester07  ►Talk  20:57, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I thought the original request was pretty snarky anyway. "I'm waiting..." As stupid as it is, the information gleaned from this conversations could be put into the Culteral references section of the article. Still, I wouldn't shed any tears if it went away.
What is the thinking on cleaning up talk pages? I'd love to wipe out some silly things on other pages, but I'm under the impressing that removing content from talk pages is frowned upon, especially if they are recurring themes. --Mdwyer 21:15, 15 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Looney Tunes edit

Some stickler is making a big deal over the two images you added to MJ. The Jazz shot one is fine it has the same exact fair use rational as the Wayne Gretzky Kings signing photo so you are fine there. The movie screenshot one is fine but you need to provide the name of the production studio and a link to the source where you got it I think.
