German Navy edit

First off:

I removed the Geocities site, I didn't add it, and I don't need to be talked to like a piece of shit.

Secondly:

Read WP:CIVIL, and double check your edits before you start acting yourself up as someone who knows what they're doing - you obviously don't. HawkerTyphoon 21:00, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Have you read WP:CIVIL yet? I appreciate your enthusiasm, cadet, and you can keep a close eye on as many of my edits as you want, but accusing me of adding 'shit links' to Wikipedia, when I clearly haven't, is not a nice thing to do, especially when you don't apologise afterwards.
"It is against the rules use bad language toward me or call me an idiot - Especially when I am clearly neither." - I haven't used any more bad language than you have, nor have I directly called you an idiot. It's not clear that you are or aren't to me, either. I have suggested that before you launch into a tiráde against all things HawkerTyphoon, that you re-check the edit you made, and restrain your enthusiasm to edits that are actually vandlaism. May I also suggest that if I had added a link to a Geocities site, talking to me in the manner I did would only serve to further alienate me, and would probably make me re-add it. Try using the warning templates provided to you in future. Thanks. HawkerTyphoon 21:25, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Brilliant. I fully admit that I have been insulting towards you, but to be honest when you leave a message like that to me, I'm liable to respond with much the same message. I strongly suggest you take this to a RFC or the admin noticeboard, as an incident of a racist or ethnic insult needs to be notified, and I would rather have it on my record openly than hide it away on my talk page. (For the record, my grandparents are from Kiel.) When you do post it, link me to it, and I'll happily reply to each point in turn. Thanks. HawkerTyphoon 21:58, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your comments, I will bear them in mind. However, I have a few more points to address:
  1. I'm not disputing that you know lots about the German Navy, and I'm not sure where this assumption arose from - I'm merely noting that you seem to have re-added the Geocities link I removed.
  2. I don't think I broke any rules regarding racism, although if you can indeed prove that I have I urge you to notify someone.
I will not be cancelling my internet subscription, however, as I've been editing Wikimedia for over two years now with several thousand combined edits, and I think that despite my many mistakes, I feel that I have made a net improvement to the projects. Can I also clarify - I'm not accusing you of racism, I'm simply pointing out that it would be rather silly of me to nsult someone about their German Ancestry, when I am of the same caste. I hope this helps you, and I note that you haven't been with the project for a long time. Have you thought about joining a Wikiproject on the German navy, or on Navies in general? I myself am a training warfare officer in the Royal Navy, and it would be interesting to hear more of your opinions on our continental cousins-in-arms. Thankyou for your contributions, HawkerTyphoon 22:24, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
My apologies. Warfare Offficer is a link somewhere on Wikipedia, I just don't remember exactly where. I don't know about my spelling, but you know what I mean, so I'll 'soldier on'pun intended regardless. I am not a real German either, although I do have German Ancestry. I am a British citizen, and that's my only official nationality. However, I find it interesting that you have been contributing to Wikipedia for 21 years - my general idea is that this project started up aroudn the turn of the millenium, although I can understand you thinking otherwise. May I ask from when you have been contributing to Wikipedia? Your contributions read that you've only been doing it since this month... I will take back my calling you an idiot, although I can't see anything other than that to take back. I hope this doesn't upset you, but I would ask for an apology in return - I don't like being accused of adding 'shit links' into wikipedia. Thankyou for watching the article, though! No personal attacks edit

Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by administrators or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. (Referred problems are [1] [2] [3], among several others). -Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 23:31, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Personal insults edit

I made no personal insult - if you read the conversation in its entirety that would be clear. Without meaning to sound petty, this stemmed from HawkerTyphoon calling me an "idiot". Anything I have said in return pales in insignificance to his initial diatribe against me. StalinsLoveChild 23:38, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I did warn him, though not as strongly. I could only find part of the conversation, but what I could find, your edits were a bit more uncivil. Then again, I couldn't find where he used the word "shit", which he admitted to; but in any case, two wrongs don't make a right (for either person). -Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 23:43, 22 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I appear to have been blocked because of a single petty dispute with another member - who in fact instigated the entire charade by using offensive name calling when reverting one of my edits, in which I had made a purely honest mistake by no fault of my own. I feel my contributions are an extremely valuable asset to Wikipedia and that this one-sided punishment is totally unfair. If you read the talk pages of both parties involved, you'll see that I am not the one doing the harassing. Granted, I might have become a little irritated at certain baseless accusations, but to accuse me of harassment is, in my opinion, ludicrous. PS - please take into account HawkerTyphoon's smug act of immediately deleting the contents of my user page as soon as I was rendered unable to respond. StalinsLoveChild 09:17, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

Decline reason:

if you had not been blocked for vandalism I would have blocked for your username -- Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 15:06, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
