May 2011 edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Ckatzchatspy 19:49, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning; the next time you insert a spam link, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for adding spam links. Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Request reason:

I have maintained one of the best and most comprehensive websites on the topic in the world since 1998. It so happens it's my website--other than that, I am not violating any of the rules. It has every bit as much right to be there as any of the other links which are allowed to remain there. I do not make a penny off this website--it is strictly a public service intended for educational purposes. If I ask *someone else* to add it, will that comply with the rules? Because I see no other aspect of the rules that I am violating. I resent being categorized as a "spammer". I have been educating the public on the topic of reincarnation for 13 years, and have been a prime mover in the field. I videotaped the interview (at my own expense) with Dr. Jim Tucker, the foremost reincarnation researcher in the world, which he links to on his website from the University of Virginia, as just one example. My articles are widely linked to across the internet. I have maintained contact with Dr. Tucker since interviewing him, and occasionally I send him news of cases he might be interested in. Would it help if I ask him to send you a personal recommendation? Who would he send it to? Ssake1 (talk) 11:18, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Decline reason:

You have no right to advertise your website at any time. First and foremost, the use of external links should never lead to a WP:LINKFARM. As much as WP:EXPERTs are appreciated, we would need to see dozens of reliable sources that specifically note you and/or your website as an expert in order to recognize it as a WP:RS of its own - you were warned not to spam, and as your site does not meet clear requirements provided to you, you are blocked accordingly. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

When you say I was warned not to spam, I never added any links after I saw the warning. I only noticed it for the first time recently. I didn't know there *was* such a thing as a warning to look for, or a "talk section," not being very familiar with Wikipedia; I also didn't know whether someone connected with Wikipedia was removing my link, or someone who simply disagreed with me about the topic (I assumed the latter--hence my persistence). My website is at least as authoritative as the ones currently cited on the page for reincarnation, and I have probably studied the subject longer (36 years) than anyone represented therein. I am, actually, an expert, but I will not be able to show you "dozens of reliable sources" because in this emerging field, there are no such things. There is a wide divergence of opinion and I am ahead of the pack. I will tell you that religion professor Chris Bache, of Youngstown University, after watching my documentary, immediately wrote to 75 of his colleagues recommending it, being so deeply impressed by it. He is the only published academician specializing on the topic in the U.S. that I know of. I will also tell you that my documentary is distributed by Films Media Group, the oldest and largest entity distributing films to colleges and universities. My website, by the way, is *not* a "link farm", however you are using that term. I do have a links page and it is hand-picked. I don't even accept reciprocal links from anyone.
