Is this silly?

edit

A 16 hour, 41 minute, and 11 second version of What is Love. *is listening to the 79 minute remix at the moment* Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 19:13, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I want to (and probably will be able to) make a version of What is Love in Audacity, that's 16:41:11 long. Is it silly? Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 16:46, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I guess… —  $PЯINGrαgђ  17:03, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

By the way, like my redesigned userpage? Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 17:19, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I do. Quite. Looks like a portal. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  17:20, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ever hear of a button called "preview"? :P —  $PЯINGrαgђ  15:03, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, the first time it didn't work because your page is skinnier than the preview shows, and then it just went pear shaped :) Plus I'm mildly allergic to preview. How do you think I boost my edit count?! (Kidding!) – Riana 15:06, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hey that's a good idea! I should try it in mainspace to raise my edit count there, since—a friend—is nominating me for Afd, I mean, RfA, in June. :P —  $PЯINGrαgђ  15:07, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

You know, if you're nominated before June 21st, it's a SpringeRFA :P Will (I hope they cannot see, I AM THE GREAT DESTROYER!) 15:34, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hence why I said in June since I know who's nominating me and when. Only appropriate that Springeragh (I guess I don't feel like doing the fancy characters) gets nominated in spring though. ;) I know two people who are already going to oppose me though. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  15:36, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Page archives

edit

I've been doing it about once a month, but I'm not consistent. It starts to get to be too long for people on dialups around that time. Also I don't want a bot doing it because I like to start a new page with a couple of the most recent comments (sort of like leaving a handful of change in the tip jar ... :-) ) Antandrus (talk) 18:21, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I certainly agree. Werdnabot does a fine job, but I do better. :P And yeah, I usually wait until 26 headings here and then archive, leaving one left. That way I don't have a completely empty page…somebody I know will be glad to know that. :P —  $PЯINGrαgђ  18:24, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Explanation (ya never know)

edit

I gave an explanation of the user/talk page difference to them. Like all social constructions, the faux pas may not be apparent? Anyway, because I'd warned them before, I thought I'd explain more. There's so much here to learn. Shenme 20:44, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

re: poem

edit

Hi Spring, thanks. I was hoping that the poem would in due time be comforting, although I know how anguished those who lost loved ones in the attack must feel right now. Not exactly, mind you, that would be presumptuous. Perhaps none of us can know precisely how they are feeling, but I pray that they will find comfort and healing. --Kyoko 05:06, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

…which is what the poem is for anyway. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  18:58, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

re: blarney

LOL. :) Sorry, it was just a bit of frustrated (and perhaps slightly childish?) mischief. ;) I got it out of my system, it won't happen again. K. Lásztocska 18:01, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm. The only thing I might have against it is it seems quite (pardon) POV to be in the article, and if it were directed at a person instead, it might be considered a personal attack. —  $PЯINGrαgђ  18:34, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Like I said, it was nothing more than mischief, a childish joke, not intended as a personal attack against anyone. I'm just as guilty as everyone else for letting the article languish in such a lousy state for so long, so it was as much an attack on myself as anyone. Also, you'll notice I have not re-instated it. K. Lásztocska 19:06, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

...*sigh*...I assume you're still the go-to guy for gratuitous emotional outpourings? ;-) After some thought I've decided to take a wikibreak, for real this time. You've probably noticed how off-kilter and out-of-whack I've been lately, between diminished productivity and outright vandalism (yes, it was vandalism, not "mischief") and losing my temper with alarming frequency. As much as I hate cop-outs and excuses, I think some of my weirdness has been due to the long absence of my most-trusted colleague, best WikiFriend and general WikiMentor (don't you love this obnoxious tradition of adding "wiki" before absolutely wiki-friggin' everything?) without whose assistance and good example I would still be a useless n00b of no help to anything. Flying solo was fine for a while, but recently I'd been losing my bearings. In the past, whenever that happened I'd be quickly salvaged by aforementioned WikiMentor's example of good WikiCitizenship and professionalism, but....but....well, anyway, not to sound too dramatic, I'll be totally fine, and I appreciate you and the other Lisztians quite a bit as well, I just need a little time off to simmer down, get my bearings back, and think about what kind of Wikipedian I really want to be. The loose cannon I was becoming? Or a good citizen?

Anyhoo, I just wanted to let you know so I wouldn't be vanishing without explanation. I'm 100% certain I will be returning, so no worries. :) See you in a while, K. Lásztocska 16:07, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Translit

edit

Please stop adding "transliteration" to articles on Russian people. Titles of the articles are already a romanization/transliteration of Russian; what's more, the transliteration version you are adding does not match any of the known romanization systems for Russian.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 20:49, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

A. Lee. Simple. Hey do I read the time right? If so you had really better go to bed. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  02:47, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank God I'm not the only one who pronounces it like that (I pronounce it similar to Hayley, but with a silent h, so "A. Lee " is a good summary of that). I hope this doesn't cause a big debate - it'd be like Trekkie vs. Trekker all over again. Of course, we could call you "Dollop". After all, it worked for Romanadvoratrelundar. I think if the Hayley vs Ellie debate were existent, I think it would be Hayley - I actually thought of Ayelie's nickname originally (she thought her user name was too masculine (most thought she was a guy, anyway), so she asked me and Riana to think of something.). By the way, I'm the Doctor. I haven't decided which form, yet. Will (is it can be time for messages now plz?) 02:58, 29 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Cliff. How have you been holding up recently? Will (is it can be time for messages now plz?) 22:13, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good; very well. I'm preparing to take a wikibreak until the very early beginning of June (as in probably returning no later than June 5 or so), since I will be traveling a bit and when I'm home I won't be on for that long before I'm off again. I'm also contemplating coming to England for a little while ;) but it won't be for a long while. And if I wait long enough, I might be able to add some travel on the Continent and bring my daughter with me! That would not be for a few years of course. So I'll be stocking up on calendars. ;) —  $PЯINGrαgђ  22:19, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
