Proposed deletion of Balaji Temple San Jose edit

The article Balaji Temple San Jose has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

no evidence of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. How does notability work? edit

I added the page Balaji Temple San Jose. Creating a page for the first time, I took special care to go over the docs and referenced how other related temples add their relevant info, how to keep the page clean, etc. I can cite more sources to get over the proposed deletion, the temple has been there for 10 - 11 years and proclaimed by Mayors of city and is in India as well, after analyzing these facts I feel it's worth adding to wiki. Do guide me in this process, I will take whatever suggestions you have. Sprasannawiki (talk) 20:55, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

First of all, you can remove the proposed deletion template. It's best if you give a good reason for keeping the article in your edit summary, but that's not absolutely required. The most common next step, however, is that the article will be taken for a deletion discussion at articles for deletion.
As an organization, the notability criteria that must be met can be found at NORG.
It's best to consider as models articles that are graded as GA - Good Article or FA - Featured Article, which are the only ones that have been through any sort of rigorous review process. Lower grade articles may have significant flaws and may be candidates for deletion themselves.
If you wish to defend the article from deletion, you should make much clearer the basis on which the temple is notable. A few announcements mentioning the temple are most likely insufficient. You need some sort of in-depth coverage published in what are considered reliable sources, probably best if they are not all local sources. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 22:18, 15 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
