Three lions promotions edit

Hi - I'm reviewing this article at the moment, and was considering nominating for deletion, but I wanted to talk to you about the sourcing before I did that. Can I check whether you have read the notability guidelines for companies here? If you look especially at the discussion of sources WP:CORPDEPTH, you'll see that it calls for significant coverage in multiple reliable secondary sources. There are currently three references for this article: one is 'Health City Cayman Islands', which only gives the company trivial coverage (it's about an event that the company organised, but it just gives the company itself a brief passing mention); one is 'BoxRec', which appears to be a directory entry about an individual rather than significant coverage of the company (plus it looks like a wiki, in which case WP:UGC would apply); the other is the company's website itself, which is obviously dependent and so wouldn't count towards notability. I've had a look for better sourcing, but I haven't found anything independent that it about the company itself, just some coverage of their events and some press releases. Are you aware of any better sourcing that might be used to demonstrate the notability of the company? Thanks GirthSummit (blether) 09:58, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Daniel Otter moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Daniel Otter, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Proposed deletion of Dan Otter edit

The article Dan Otter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Some mentions, but not enough in-depth coverage of the promotor himself to pass WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. There are comments that he is just doing his job and is named as promoter. There are many persons on Wikipedia that are job related as that is how it’s noteworthy. There are credible sources that are news agencies and not press releases. There are over 10 citations all with credible references and with the article solely about the individual. Sportscanada 16:36, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
I have added most recent information with articles that are directly related to the subject. Headline uses his job title
as promoter and the article would not be able to be written without his mention. Credible, relevant and reliable and noteworthy Sportscanada 05:29, 16 January 2024 (UTC)
Reliability of references - several countries, several languages and all creditable. Proof of importance and relevance with several articles all being national news of the country. Will update with further credible references that shows the subjects importance. Sportscanada 04:08, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

Custom signature fix needed edit

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. Changes to Wikipedia's software have made your current custom signature invalid.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error or obsolete HTML tags.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, you can fix your signature, or you can do nothing.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (Do not click the red "Restore all default settings" button, which will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)

Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:

  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Click the Learn more button next to the error to learn how to fix the error.
  3. Update your signature to fix the error.
  4. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Solution 3: Do nothing:

  1. In accordance with a recent request for comment, all invalid signatures will be changed to the default, which looks like "Example (talk)", one month from now.

If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
