Hello Everyone! I'm new to Wikipedia and hope to help! I'm enjoying it so far, so...

I'll be seeing all of you around! :)

Questions, I Guess... edit

Umm... so yay... My First question is can you copy and paste a PictureURL/picture to a Wikipedia Page?

Oh! Thank you for the infomation!I will definetly use it in the future!

I'm a big newbie in Wikipedia so I'm going to need just a bit of time to absorb all of this in but I will definetly need to learn these things soon...

Not to sound ignorant, but how do you upload or paste a photo of something into a Wikipedia article? Cause when I try to paste a picture's URL it always comes out as a link and not as an actual picture with a caption...

Proposed deletion of Digimon world:re:digitize edit

The article Digimon world:re:digitize has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced article about an upcoming game. WP:TOOSOON and no evidence of (current) notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A quick Wikipedia primer edit

Hiya. I see that you're trying to add various pages to Wikipedia and I'm here to give you some help as to understanding why they're being deleted. It looks like that while you're new to Wikipedia, I'm guessing that you've had some experience editing for fan pages of various types (wikis or just plain html pages). While the general idea is similar, especially for wikia type entries, there's a big enough difference as to things you have to post along with the info.

  1. First off, everything needs to have reliable sources. (WP:RS) EVERYTHING. It might seem like the information should be something that everyone would know, but you have to source it. Even a Tim Burton movie needs to have enough reliable sources to prove that it's notable before we can create a wiki entry for it. Reliable sources are considered to be things such as news articles from reliable sources. For example, if GamePro did an article on a Digimon game then it can be considered a reliable source since they do a lot of research and are considered to be reliable sources. However, if I were to have a gaming blog and post about this, it wouldn't be considered a reliable source since I haven't been shown to be reliable or to be a notable source of information. Another thing about reliable sources is that it needs to be in-depth. A brief entry that merely announces that a game is going to be released is usually never considered to be a reliable source that shows notability. At most these types of entries are considered to be trivial sources that can help flesh out information but don't show notability themselves. Even if the trivial source is from a reliable place, it's still not enough to establish notability. Another thing you need to be careful of are entries that all say the same thing. For example, most of the articles about Re:digitalize all say the same things because there's such a small amount of information out there. Another thing to be careful of is that anything released by Bandai or anyone affiliated with it cannot be used as a reliable source to show notability. Sometimes they can be used as a source, but they cannot establish notability. Press releases would be a good example of something that can be informative but cannot be seen as a reliable source establishing notability because many times companies can and will claim things that might not be exactly true. They'll be close to it, but not exactly close.
  2. Secondly, you have to be able to show that there's enough information to warrant an article to itself. The big problem I'm running into with Re:digitalize is that although I was able to find a few sources, they all say the same thing and it's little more than a stub entry. Sometimes entries are best represented on a list or a more main page rather than with an entire entry to themselves. If all that we currently have is enough to make a paragraph, then odds are that paragraph would do just as well on the main page than on a page to itself. You need to have enough coverage to show that there's a reason to have the article.
  3. Sometimes it's just too soon to establish articles for upcoming people, events, and things. Re:digitize is a prime example of this. Odds are that the game will eventually be big, but right now there's just not enough information to justify it having a page to itself. You can claim that the game will make it big, but we can't guarantee that it will. There's just as much a chance that the game will fly under the radar and won't get enough reviews or coverage to warrant having an article. We call these policies WP:CRYSTAL and WP:TOOSOON. Generally speaking, most things won't merit an article until a month or two before its release date. If there's no specific release date, that usually means that it's too soon to create an article.
  4. This part is important. NEVER create an article expecting that others will flesh it out for you. Always try to find as much information as you can and incorporate that into the article. Always assume that your article will be deleted if it doesn't have reliable sources and meet all the requirements of WP:GNG. Also, be aware that "it's useful" and "it's informative" are not valid reasons to keep an article. WP:ITSUSEFUL, Wikipedia:Informative This is one of the biggest differences between Wikipedia and a fan page because usually fan pages are ok with adding anything as well as having pages with no sources, where Wikipedia demands these things. It might seem a little strict, but then Wikipedia generally has to be.
  5. When in doubt, ask for help. It might be best if you were to work on these pages in your userspace (WP:USERFY) and get the help of several people from Wikipedia:WikiProject Games to help you out. This is a community of people who are devoted to fleshing out and expanding game entries and information on Wikipedia. I highly recommend that you look to them for assistance in creating any other entries.

Hopefully this will help out some. I know it must seem frustrating, but there's a lot of rules to understand and follow here. I know that as a newbie I was pretty confused by many of the rules at first, so hopefully this will help make things a little less confusing.Tokyogirl79 (talk) 09:19, 21 December 2011 (UTC)tokyogirl79Reply

Obvious Deletions...! edit

I now understand why my articles should be deleted...I guess they shouldn't be up because I don't have any reliable sources or I need much more information to continue the aritcle(s)..Sorry for causing a bit of trouble and next time, before I will make another new article/next edit I will make sure I will have reliable sources, a lot of information for the aritcle/edit, and just make sure it's good and not getting revised and getting people to think of deleting it..On like 1 edit, I was just joking around and having some silly fun(which btw, makes me a complete hipocite) but I just wanted to see my edit and laugh..I have learned and must now take Wikipedia and it's articles and edits very Seriously or not do it at all. Please forgive me and you can delete the aritcles without an arguement with me! And I do mean ALL of them. Thank you for your time everyone!

Wow... Another article I failed at..! I need to start thinking!!!Argh!! Sorry fr the trouble. I'm not making another article(I'll talk about edits later) until I'm absolutely sure it's going to be good.

If I fail one more time, I'm either never making another article again or I'm just a plain idiot..!!

Sorry for the trouble and I need to be much less of a hypocrite!

Sorry...!!!!

Frankly, for the Platform Racing 3 article, I was just a plain idiot and not thinking.. I'm so sorry..

Oh, fail for me... edit

Please forgive me for what I do sometimes...

Sorry, didn't mean to be such dang hypocrite! I mean technically, you could go to the actual beta to see if it's true, but I'm such an idiot sometimes..Sorry..Ugh, just take it down.. Next time, I will definitively get reliable sources(why did I even make the article in the first place, should have let someone else start it).... I mean I thought I knew the stuff but I forgot about the reliable sources part; like links to websites that have that information.. Ugh..Just, just take it down. My fault... I need to stick to just edits for a while!

Sorry for the problem. Time to lay off making articles and focus on small-a bit more significant edits.

I shouldn't have created the article while it's still in beta.. Sorry. By the way Sparthorse, you catch on FAST with poorly made articles!

Once again, please forgive me...

Images edit

For uploading pictures and other media, it's easiest to go to Wikimedia Commons (you can use your Wikipedia credentials if you're not logged in already) and visit the Upload Wizard. Wikimedia Commons can only accept files which anyone can use for any purpose. That means most content you find on the web is not acceptable. But for example, most photos that you've taken yourself are OK to upload.

Here's a screenshot of the Upload Wizard:

You start by selecting the files you want to upload, then you go step by step through the process. In the final step, you'll get some wiki markup that you can copy into a Wikipedia article. Let me know if I can help. :-)

Disambiguation link notification edit

Hi. When you recently edited Duke Nukem (1991 video game), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 2D (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
