October 2007 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Thanksgiving (United States), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add your original reference to the article. Thank you. You removed part of the introduction to this article, claiming it is a civil, not a religious festival. But you provide no source for this edit other than your own views. Meanwhile, the reality is that this day was introduced by the Pilgrim Fathers enacting the European Harvest Festival and most certainly WAS a religious observance. Whether everybody who celebrates thanksgiving today do so from a religious perspective is a different matter - and that's not what the article introduction said.

I am going to put some useful links at the top of this page which will help you to understand what makes a good Wikipedia edit. B1atv 13:15, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
