February 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Enwebb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Know My Name (book) have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the help desk. Thanks. Enwebb (talk) 17:17, 20 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Chanel Miller. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Enwebb (talk) 15:08, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Enwebb please explain what you find to be so disruptive about my edits, and also please kindly stop reverting them with template messages that don’t actually explain what your problem is. I suppose this approach works for someone who is trying to get another editor blocked, but it does not reflect any actual interest in content on your part. I eagerly await your response. Sincerely, Sphinctor.

Hi. When it comes to adding new material to an article, the onus is on the person making the change to gain consensus for the change, not the person removing it. In the case of articles about living people, the barrier is even higher - unsourced negative information about a person should be removed. Please consult the biographies of living persons policy for more information. Guettarda (talk) 19:57, 21 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
Hi Guettarda,

Ok, I’m sorry I did not realize that. Thank you for explaining. I won’t restore my edits. Sincerely, Sphinctor

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
