Geno Trooper

edit

The main reason I'm dropping by is because of your new article, Geno Trooper. Previously, there was a collective of editors focusing on Zoids articles, and between us there was a decision that for a Zoid to "be deserving"for lack of better words of an article, they had to at the minimum be released as a general-availability model kit.

At a point over the next week or so, the Geno Trooper article may be cut down andmerged into another article (likely either Geno Saurer or Geno Breaker), or nominated for deletion. Its nothing against you, and I hope you continue to edit... its that the subject of the article is deemed inappropriate for Wikipedia. -- saberwyn 21:48, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The reason a lot of Zoids articles have not yet been written is because nobody has gotten around to it yet, or because nobody has the information on hand. Let's lets use your Lancestag example, one of the few Genesis line Zoids to receive a special edition, major player in the Zoids: Genesis anime... I don't have access to the required information to write up an article. Maybe you do, and if you do, I hope you write it up.

As for Geno Trooper, this Zoid is not produced as a kit in any way, shape or form. It does not appear in the Battle Story, or in any of the animes, or in any video games outside the Zoids Saga series. There is not enough externally verifiable information available on the Zoid; some of the claims made in the article are universal for all Zoids in that game series, and others are pure speculation. That's the main reason. Secondly, I put it up because it doesn't meet various Wikipedia guidelines, including verifiability WP:V and writing about fiction WP:WAF.

Thirdly, and its either the most or least important depending on your point of view. There are over 200 Zoid model kity types released, and the model kits are the primary focus of Tomy's Zoids franchise. Of those, a little less than half have their own articles. Many of these appear in the animes, the mangas and comics, and the video games, as well as their physical kits. In some of these secondary forms, the Zoid's appearance is a major impact on the storyline (again, Lancestag). I personally think that these are the Zoids editors should be focusing on. But that's my view. -- saberwyn 12:01, 5 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
