I notice that you put Western Suburbs out very far... well west. Originally the magpies were based at Ashfield(which is east of cumberland and parramatta, even Homebush). They remained at Ashfield for over 60 years moving to Lidcombe in the seventies and than finally west to campbelltown in the eighties. You need to fix the location, but it is already very cluttered where wests would go, so, lol, good luck. --58.172.251.46 (talk) 12:17, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Is the infobox category broken?

Hi Joel - I haven't checked the Category:Infobox rugby league biography templates needing updating for a while, but I noticed today that there are quite a few players on there who have had the new=yes removed. Tony Butterfield, Russell Aitken are just two. Florrieleave a note 11:10, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

thanks & chapter

g'day, thanks for fixing up that strange redirecting to the disclaimers page.... weird.

Anyway, I clicked through to your userpage and saw how active you were on RL and Aust. topics more generally. I was wondering if you were aware of or intending to become a member of the Australian Chapter? I'm fairly involved in it myself and it would be good if when we have the AGM in a couple of months there are lots of Australian members to get the ball rolling!

You realise that if I hadn't have seen that huge Moonraker drive banner I wouldn't have even looked at a Bond film page today!! Its probably about time we got ALL of the films up to GA status. Sorry I didn't have the time to help out with Live and Let Die, despite it being amongst my favourites. Looking better? The Bald One White cat 19:57, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Edit counter

{{helpme}}

This is not a Wikipedia related problem, just a one relating to it.

I need a counter that tells me how many edits I have made for every page I have edited.

I have used [4] (may take a while to load) and you see the top 15 of my edits. How do you get one that generates an entire list.

I couldn't find one on the edit counters page, but I didn't look thourougly.

Thanks for your help.  The Windler talk  04:24, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Have you tried WikiChecker? I'm not 100% sure that it does what you ask, so I'll leave the helpme template, but you should give it a look. GlassCobra 07:11, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Membership to the WikiProject Rugby League

Hey,

The name's c4v3m4n. I have placed the "User WikiProject Rugby league" to my user page but my name hasn't appeared on the Participants page.

I really want to help out with the Rugby League projects, my main focus would be updating/creating pages for the NRL Grand Finals that have passed. You will see that I have created this years NRL Grand Final page, without the game summary.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Off again

Quick note to let you all know I am off again. I simply cannot cope with morons and destructive editing, there are more important things in life. We're opening our shop next week anyway, so I need to put away the distractions. If one of you would mind finishing off Allan McMahon's infobox I would appreciate it. I only got as far as coaching. Hope to be back eventually. Cheers! Florrieleave a note 13:32, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Re: Off again

I think I'm going to take a break as well over another summer. If I do come back and work on articles, it'll probably be around the start of next season. At the moment it's just going to be working on team player lists that you may have seen me updating - I'm hoping to get about half a dozen of them listed as featured lists eventually. As for your question about those language templates, scroll over the two-letter wikilink on the left hand side of the box and it will direct you to the language in question. I don't think there is an english version for each one, but from my basic understanding of those languages it would seem that they all say a similar thing anyway (that is, either a basic, intermediate or advanced understanding of each language on a scale of 1-5). Cheers mate. MDM (talk) 10:58, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Current Club

Next time you are back on wp, could you check out the infobox template for the current club coding? It's showing again for Australian players. Or, could you let me know how to fix it? I tried to check it out by going through the history but couldn't work it out. Cheers, Florrieleave a note 13:08, 10 October 2008 (UTC)

Unfortunately the current edit has failed to retain the fix for the 5 fields issue. I have reverted it in the meantime, obviously when the solution is found we can overlay those details and make it the standard template.Londo06 09:14, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

Oh hang on a sec. Something went wrong. It's not working anymore. Now height and weight don't appear at all for retired people.--Jeff79 (talk) 07:54, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
Sweet. Also, good work on the retired paramater of the infobox. I'm almost pretty much perfectly happy with the way the infobox is these days. Finally! Just on the height & weight for retired personnell: to save going about adding that parameter to all the deceased players' infoboxes, is it possible to have height/weight moved to playing information simply if the "date of death" field is occupied? Not sure if that's possible or not, but might just be a more efficient way.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:34, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Quantum of Solace

Perhaps its too early to make a judgement but the early pre-reviews of the film are not as good as I'd expected. When I found out that Jack White was doing the theme tune alarm bells began ringing. It has to be the least Bond film score sounding track I've ever heard. The Bolvivian location and plot in, especially in relation to the title seems too far fetched even by Bond standards although the plot in a way seems quite SPECTRE esque, looks like it is full of action scenes though. The baddy doesn't exactly look the most menacing either does he? Bring back myself I say!. Also I prefer my films well over 2 hours, this film is the shortest of the films so far. I don't doubt that the action scenes are as top notch as usual but for me a great Bond film has to have all the ingredients. Mmm, I guess I'll have to wait a week to find out. What do you think? Blofeld of SPECTRE (talk) 11:08, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

A Bond film is a Bond film. The problem is you can't make 22 very good films. Every series needs its weak points to grow stronger, eg. AVTAK, DAD. To me Quantum of Solace to Casino Royale will be like Tomorrow Never Dies to GoldenEye. Not as good, wont make as much money but the actor will stay on. I'm not worried about the length of the film, but I think it was an over-reaction to the fact that Casino Royale was critised for being too long. I don't care about the title song any more - they all seem populised and a chance for people to make more money. I believe there are references in QOS to other Bond films, they could have done this for the title song - an instrumental perhaps?? I don't think all Bond villains have to be menacing, as long as their good. Anyway - I'm still going to watch it (in 4 weeks though due to delayed release, damn Sony), and so will all Bond fans.  The Windler talk  00:46, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Yes, the thing is every Bond film to date has had its qualities, there isn't a single Bond film where there wasn't one memorable moment or that wasn't enjoyable to watch. Even View to a Kill, my worst Bond film had some qualities with the handgliding scene, Paris car chase. I do like a good instrumental film score though, I loathed Madonnas Die Another Day. My favourite scores were in films like the spy who loved me and Moonraker and best of all Octopussy with the classical music. The locations look very interesting this time around Bond in Bolivia is pretty cool although if you ever thought of Bond being there you'd think it would have been something more on the drug cartel Franz Sanchez mold rather than water supply. Most of the reviews so far have been positive in regards to Craig's performance though so lets hope the film is good. I quite like the title and I don't think it has to be said like in the old days "Whoever she was, it must have scared the Living Daylights out of her". Infobox height & weight

Hey, I thought you made it so that height & weight would automatically appear under 'Playing information' if the dateofdeath parameter was occuppied (to save the need for using the retired field). Isn't that right? Anyway, if so, it doesn't seem to be working for Frank Burge.--Jeff79 (talk) 05:03, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Thats because there wasn't a "retired - yes" on Burges page, silly.  The Windler talk  05:27, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

No, I think we've misunderstood eachother. Remember this discussion from a few weeks ago? I said:

Just on the height & weight for retired personnel: to save going about adding that parameter to all the deceased players' infoboxes, is it possible to have height/weight moved to playing information simply if the "date of death" field is occupied? Not sure if that's possible or not, but might just be a more efficient way.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:34, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

To which you replied:

Yeah we can, I'll work on it now, but remember, most retired players aren't dead yet.  The Windler talk  09:37, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

So I thought you succeeded with that. Which means if the date of death field is occupied, the height/weight will appear under 'Playing information' without the need for the 'retired' field.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:39, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I completely forgot, I'll work on it now. Sorry.  The Windler talk  09:50, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Hopefully done, I'm not going to trial it or anything so if any errors, just notify me here.  The Windler talk  09:59, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, sweet. It appears to be working fine. Thanks.--Jeff79 (talk) 10:09, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Collaboration

Hi. I would be happier if it was collaboration of the month rather than two weeks because in my busy schedule by the time I get round to editing the article the two weeks are up, they seme to go very quickly. Could we make it by month instead? This will also make the task of promoting to GA more straightforward Dr. Blofeld (talk) 10:24, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Quantum of Solace is pretty good really. The action scenes are great and the weasel was a lot better as the villain than I'd anticipated. I swear though that the producers have been watching too much Bourne which is ironic given that Bond is nearly a 50 year old franchise. Personally though I don't think it is a good idea to have a sequel with a Bond film as most people who aren't Bond fanatics are trying to remember exactly what happened with Vesper and why he is so pissed off. I also think in a way its become too tough and bitter, the action was great but I'd rather see some of the Bond ingredients before like the cheesy one liners and a bit of humour which Brosnan always carried off well. I hated the theme tune when I heard it but it actually works quite well with it and grows on you, particularly the riff which is very suitable. The article is in very good shape and will be ready for FA soon enough. I also saw a documentary on the making of it the other night but forgot to tape it. No doubt it will feature on the DVD when released. Count Blofeld de Bruges 20:25, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

I won't see it for two/three weeks (19 November is when it is released) at a minimum, so I've banned myself from the Quantum page. The reviews are are positive still, notably saying not as good as CR. Sequels are good if they work on their own level, for instance Lord of the rings trilogy. While the previous films help, Return of the king can work on its own merit. Same as Star Wars. I'll have to watch QOS to make a judgement about that.  The Windler talk  21:02, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

I found a free image of Necros from the Living Daylights. Count Blofeld 21:53, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
