Speaker to Lampposts

It's a play on the character Speaker-to-Animals (from the Ringworld novels), mixed with a reference to The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)'s lyrics ("Hello, lamppost, whatcha knowin'?").

Given how Speaker used his name/title (to imply the person he was talking to was an animal), I'm pretty sure my 'nym is a deadly insult — I'm just not entirely clear if I'm insulting my correspondents or myself. -- Speaker to Lampposts (talk) 06:13, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
