Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 14:18, 18 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dear Jeraphine,

Wannabe rogue scholar here, sorry. Thank you for the pointer! I marked the changes as minor because I have low self-esteem (plus I didn't read the help). Sometimes I feel like everything I do is 'minor.' But I am in love with philosophy. Unfortunately, I accidentally majored in art. So I've convinced myself that if I dive in heartlong (scared as I am of humiliating myself) and make some contributions to this massive, world-renowned website, I might improve my self-esteem, knowledge of philosophy, and editing skills in one fell, but repeatable, exercise I can do when I'm feeling confident or the mood strikes me.

I feel Wikipedia is the perfect solution for this type of autodidactic learning process. So, you have my sincere thanks for noticing my contribution. validation (and honest criticism) is exactly what I need. If you know of any groups or individuals (yourself included) that are passionate about building confidence in others through validation, please help me!

Please don't add material without sources. --John (talk) 08:32, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

It would be helpful if your request contained more details.--Soulgazer (talk) 08:59, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please stop your disruptive editing. Your edits have been reverted or removed.

Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. Please see WP:V. --John (talk) 09:12, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I apologize. I'm very passionate about this subject. I'm new to editing, and perhaps I took the wrong approach. As a result of your callous reverts (without explanation), my feelings were injured. I'm deleting this category, for now to try another approach. You have not seen the last of me. Muhahahahaha.... Read the book —Soulgazer (talk) 10:32, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

You can't just tell someone to read a book unless you're sure it's available for them somewhere. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 10:15, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm sure it's available on Amazon. I looked earlier. I tried to be bold. I failed. I'll delete it and try another way: paying closer attention to the policies, proposing edits on article talk pages and editing articles on my user page before I post to the encyclopedia. Thanks again Jeraphine. —Soulgazer (talk) 10:32, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well you can't expect editors to go and buy books just to check something, that's not reasonable. :p Anyway, it seems that was not the main reason why people had a problem with that category, so, this is not important. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 10:42, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Soulgazer. I have tagged your user page for speedy deletion as it violated our policy WP:NPA. Please do not restore this material or repeat the attack. Thank you. --John (talk) 11:35, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I took the liberty of making this edit (sorry if it was a bad idea). — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 11:40, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sorry John, not sure what you're talking about. Can my user page be deleted? What personal attack? —Soulgazer (talk) 11:49, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Favorite Article: The No Asshole Rule —Thanks John" -- what was that supposed to mean? In any case it looks like John wouldn't appreciate being mentioned like that on someone's userpage, so it's better if you just don't do that. At worst, it might look like you're calling him an asshole. (You might not wanna call strangers "Pooh Bear" either.)
Pages tagged with {{db-attack}} can possibly be deleted but in this case I think it was easier to just edit the page to remove the apparent personal attack. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 11:58, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

I thought maybe I was being the asshole, so I was thanking John for revealing my unconscious behavior. I also thought John's user page quoted Pooh. I was just trying to be friendly. Sorry John. Thanks Jeraphine. —Soulgazer (talk) 12:09, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Okay. Problem solved. (I think...) Sorry you're having a bit of a difficult start here (on Wikipedia), but it'll get easier with time. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 12:13, 19 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
