Orphaned non-free media (File:Discovery of Witches Cover.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Discovery of Witches Cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:44, 21 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hot Country Songs

edit

I don't understand your argument. If it is the same chart, it should have the same chart positions, so why are you removing the chart positions for Hot Country Songs in Miranda Lambert's discography? If a new chart was created (Country Airplay) in 2012, then that is the one that should not have a chart position before 2012. I've started a discussion in Record charts, please add if possible. Bubbling Under

edit

Please note that the Wikipedia guideline on Billboard charts is not to merge Bubbling Under to Hot 100 when there are multiple entries for the chart per WP:BILLBOARDCHARTS. The reason being that Bubbling Under is not a straight extension of the Billboard Hot 100, since the criteria for inclusion in the Bubbling Under chart are different from Billboard Hot 100. Some songs are not eligible for the Bubbling Under chart (e.g. after it had appeared on the Hot 100). In the case of multiple entries as is the case with this chart, this avoid having to add too many footnotes to the chart.

Edited to add - On further reflection, two footnotes are not excessive, so it is arguable that your edits were perfectly fine, and I was just being picky. I'd prefer to have a separate column when it has more than one entries so that it is easier to add further entries in the future, but others may feel differently.Hzh (talk) 09:26, 23 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Lights - Up We Go single.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Lights - Up We Go single.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Taylor Swift - Long Live (feat. Paula Fernandes).jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Taylor Swift - Long Live (feat. Paula Fernandes).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi! So I'm a massive fan of Shawn, always have been always will be. So anyway, I was curious as to what Wikipedia had to say about him. Long story short; I saw that on his occupations list, there was only singer and he's a song writer too. It actually made me really mad and I really just wanna change it! So please let me!? Or you could? Either works. It just really needs to be changed for the sake of everyones knowledge about him. Because people are really starting to know who he is and they need full information on him and they're gonna come here, and they need to know he's a songwriter too. Please? Question

edit

Hey. Do you perhaps know/have the Canadian Airplay chart peaks for Selena Gomez's singles? Come & Get It, The Heart Wants What It Wants, Slow Down, I Want You To Know etc. Please let me know? Thanks :) Abi-Maria (talk) 09:53, 19 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Abi-Maria: For whatever reason, Billboard no longer includes the Canadian airplay charts in artists' proper chart histories (i.e. the page linked for Canada CHR/Top 40 [chart id 'f=1239'] using the {{singlechart}} template appears blank). However, these charts are still archived on Billboard.biz and are available without a subscription using the Chart Search feature. For example, this search shows all of the peaks you would expect to find on the previously linked chart history page (for Canada CHR). It's a bit lengthier to read through as it shows an entry for each week each song was on the chart, but it's better than nothing. You can also obviously change the chart using the pulldown menu, search for a specific song, etc. by adjusting the search terms. Hope that helps! :) Songsteel (talk) 04:01, 20 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

O-Town Australian chart peaks

edit

Hi, I see that in February 2015 you added an Australian chart peak for O-Town's All or Nothing; supposedly charting at #14. This single did not enter the Australian (ARIA) top 100 singles chart. The reference cited (australian-charts.com, which displays only top 50 chart data) does not list it as charting in Australia, either. I have removed the peak, and also corrected the group's Australian peaks on the O-Town page. Only "Liquid Dreams" entered the ARIA top 100, peaking at #61.Nqr9 (talk) 05:54, 3 February 2016 (UTC)Reply

JoJo discography/Fuck Apologies

edit

Yesterday I saw that you reverted another user for adding a Mediabase chart position in place of Billboard, which I didn't have an issue with, but in your edit summary, you said the source they linked to, headlineplanet.com, is "not a valid source". What's your reasoning for this? Headline Planet is a valid source, because it reports on confirmed music news like Billboard (not Mediabase) peaks, ratings for TV shows and contemporary radio add dates for songs all the time. I can't find any reason why it would not be a considered a valid source. A third party reporting on another company or website's data does not make said site unreliable. Ss112 15:43, 31 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

An editor previously made this clear at Talk:Taylor Swift discography#Using Headlineplanet.com which mirrors Mediatraffic (Rikripley's comment). As they said, Headline Planet does not mirror or use any source contained on WP:BADCHARTS, even when it reports sales figures. Ss112 15:53, 31 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
My apologies. That was poor wording on my part; Headline Planet is indeed a valid source, I just felt it was not an appropriate source for the specific information it was verifying (in this case, the Pop chart peak) because I was unsure where they received their numbers. Thank you for the clarification.
I stand by removing the chart position from the "US Pop" column on the discography page since that refers specifically to the Billboard Pop Songs chart, but I do wonder if there is a case for including the Mediabase chart on the "Fuck Apologies" page with a ref such as Headline Planet to back it up. At least until it charts on the more widely-accepted Billboard chart. Is there any official policy or consensus on including non-Billboard charts for the US? Songsteel (talk) 19:43, 31 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, you were right in removing it from the Billboard Pop column. As for including it on the song's article, I don't think there's any policy against it, it's just that it's not very common nowadays to cite other US charts besides Billboard's (whereas there used to be other publications like Cashbox and such). Thanks for uploading File:Tebey - Old School (EP cover).jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Adam Lambert discography

edit

Just letting you know, the peaks you added to Adam Lambert discography in the Finnish column for "Another Lonely Night" and "Welcome to the Show" were the airplay and download peaks, respectively. The Finnish airplay chart is marked as "Radiosoittolista" and the download chart is "Latauslista" on ifpi.fi. I've removed the numbers from the column and replaced them with notes. Still having the number in the column with or without a note would violate WP:SYNTH. Ss112 11:02, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for fixing those entries. I found the reference for the Finnish charts unclear about exactly what chart the peaks presented referred to so I made an educated guess based on the fact that the singlechart template directed to the same page. Good to know the distinction for future reference. Songsteel (talk) 18:09, 8 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:15, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lillix, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Demo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 14:56, 14 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Kelsea Ballerini - Love Me Like You Mean It (CD single cover).jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NFCC#3a discourages using more than one image convey[ing] equivalent significant information. WP:NFCC#8 also discourages an image not conveying adequate significance in context. Digital distribution more prevalent than physical, so preferring the digital release artwork...

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
