Hi there - Wikipedia relies on reliable sources to verify information, especially about living people. You didn't provide a source for your changes to the Ryan Alebiosu article, and I couldn't find one either. If you have a reliable source please let me know and we can change the article. Ways to improve Al-Rafidain SC edit

Hello, SonOfBasra,

Thank you for creating Al-Rafidain SC.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references to satisfy notability for sport. Personal blogs and lists do not count for notability. What is needed are references from significant coverage about this club. Articles should be independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS; that is your guide. You may also read WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources. A more comprehensive guide is WP:SOURCES ... Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion. Kindly do the needful. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Ways to improve Al-Midaina SC edit

Hello, SonOfBasra,

Thank you for creating Al-Midaina SC.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This article needs more references in order to provide significant coverage for this article. See WP:SIGCOV
References that have scores, lists, order of merit and video do not pass as reliable sources for WP:NSPORT. (There have been changes to the notability guide for sports - you may wish to read WP:NSPORT ) To meet notability requirements, one more reference with significant coverage will suffice. Thank you.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Deletion discussion about Anah SC edit

Hello, SonOfBasra, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Th78blue, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Anah SC, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anah SC.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Th78blue}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

There are three sources to the article whose links have been mentioned, there is also a club page on (Goalzz.com) website whose link is mentioned in (External links), and the team has played for three seasons in the FA Cup and this was mentioned in (See also).
So why are you trying to delete the article? SonOfBasra (talk) 13:07, 25 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Linking edit

Hi SonOfBasra. Thank you for your articles on Iraqi football teams. I have one small, extremely pedantic suggestion: per MOS:OVERLINK, you probably shouldn't make Iraqi into a link, since Iraq is a well-known country. It'd be more appropriate to link football team, e.g. "Taza Sport Club (Arabic: نادي تازة الرياضي), is an Iraqi football team". It's a really minor thing though. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 09:16, 3 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Al-Meshkhab SC edit

Hello, SonOfBasra

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Chris troutman, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Al-Meshkhab SC, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Chris troutman}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

August 2022 edit

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Arsenal F.C., but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 16:24, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Dear @Mattythewhite
Promoting an academy player to the first-team squad does not need to add a source in the squad paragraph, but rather it is added on the player's page, so it is strange for me to delete the content I added.
This is the link to spread the news clearly
https://arsenalyouth.wordpress.com/2022/08/03/confirmed-karl-hein-promoted-to-arsenal-first-team-squad-given-number-31-shirt/
There are other links. But it is not supposed to be included in such a paragraph. SonOfBasra (talk) 17:31, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, we should wait for Arsenal themselves to confirm that the player has been added to the first-team squad. Looking at the squad page and news section on their website, it doesn't appear they've confirmed this yet. The site you've cited is a blog and is therefore unlikely to qualify as a reliable source. Hopefully it will be announced by the club soon. Mattythewhite (talk) 21:03, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Shabab Al-Watan SC moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Shabab Al-Watan SC, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Proposed deletion of Al-Shomali SC edit

The article Al-Shomali SC has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't seen to pass WP:GNG, with the first source talking about an individual game, and the other two not working.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Cláudio Maradona moved to draftspace edit

An article you recently created, Cláudio Maradona, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). William Jebor edit

Hi SonOfBasra. Thanks for updating William Jebor. You didn't include any sources, neither for his move to Al-Minaa nor for the honours you added. Please add WP:inline citation as necessary or I will have to revert your change. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 17:19, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi Robby, thank you for your interest, as for the honours, I took them from the soccerway website in this link: https://int.soccerway.com/players/william-jebor/182710/, and as for his move to Al-Minaa, the club announced it on its official page in this link: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=914731223996351&set=a.123265689809579. SonOfBasra (talk) 17:45, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
WP:Verify demands that Wikipeda readers "must be able to check that any of the information within Wikipedia articles is not just made up". None of the sources currently in the article mention a move to Al-Minaa so we need an inline citation for that. Can our readers verify that the Facebook page is the club's official one? If yes, you can use the post you linked. For the honours, Soccerway is not suitable as a source, unfortunately, as it is known to add honours to player profiles even if a player is not eligible. Robby.is.on (talk) 17:58, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Now I have added to William Jebor the source of the news of the player’s transfer to Al-Minaa Club. As for honors, I will try to search for other sources that explain this more clearly, and if I do not find that, you can delete it. SonOfBasra (talk) 18:15, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! :-) I've used the rasediraqi.com article to mention the move in the storyline. I ran the article title through Google Translate and it gave "Determine the arrival date of the first port professionals" which reads a bit strange. I assume you're a native speaker of Arabic? Perhaps you know a more accurate translation? I will try to search for other sources that explain this more clearly, and if I do not find that, you can delete it. 👍 Robby.is.on (talk) 18:22, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
The article in this source says that "إدارة نادي الميناء تعاقدت مع المهاجم الليبيري وليام جيبور ليكون أول المحترفين في الفريق في الموسم الحالي" , and its translation is: Al-Minaa Club management has signed Liberian striker William Jebor to be the team’s first professional this season. SonOfBasra (talk) 18:30, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I mean the article title, "تحديد موعد وصول أول محترفي الميناء". Robby.is.on (talk) 18:54, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
"Port" is a literal translation of the club's name: Al-Minaa. SonOfBasra (talk) 19:08, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ah, thanks, I had a suspicion. I've corrected it here. Robby.is.on (talk) 19:15, 27 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
