Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Lleida.net edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Lleida.net, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Request reason:

With my article, I was only trying to incorporate to the wiki the information of an enterprise that is important in my city. My intention is neither to promote it cause I don't have any interests in it, I was simply trying to provide relevant and interesting information of important enterprises of my city, and that's my first contribution. Maybe I'm not doing all the things well, but is not my intention to promote nothing Somdeloest (talk) 12:13, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Not an advertising-only account. See discussion below. -- Scott (talk) 00:55, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Athaenara: The deleted page was their only edit and I see no reason to suspect socking. Given that, I think a proper warning and an unblock are in order. Any objections? -- Scott (talk) 20:05, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
OK, why not? I was tempted to recall some standard questions another admin asks in these situations (what are you going to edit, etc.) but for now, sure. – Athaenara 23:04, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
I understand in that case that I will be unblocked? I will review my article to create it according to wikipedia rules. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but be sure I will review it and if I can show you it before publish to see that it's all correct, it would be a great help. Can I recover the deleted article just to review it?Somdeloest (talk) 11:55, 3 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Hi Somdeloest, your article was deleted because it appeared to be promoting the subject, which isn't allowed on Wikipedia. Promotion doesn't just mean advertising--it includes any content that tries to convince the reader that an article's subject is good and should be supported. All Wikipedia articles must be written from a neutral point of view. You also need to cite reliable sources that show how the subject meets our notability guidelines, and articles about companies should meet the specific notability guidelines for companies.
Trying to create a new article right from the start can be tough. I strongly recommend that new editors spend some time working on existing articles and getting familiar with our basic rules. When you're ready to create your first article, use the articles for creation process and ask for help from experienced editors. Otherwise, your hard work might get deleted again. -- Scott (talk) 00:55, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Lleida.net edit

@Somdeloest: I studied your work more closely and was impressed by the strength of the indications that the notability of Lleida.net is probably demonstrable and will justify having a page in this encyclopedia. Accordingly, I undeleted the draft and moved it to User:Somdeloest/sandbox (see User talk:Somdeloest/sandbox as well). Give it plenty of time, there's no rush to get the page deleted again! I think you can produce a good result here. – Athaenara 09:20, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
