Soman, the nominator has responded to your review. Were you planning to return to continue the review, or should I find a new reviewer to take over? Please let me know if it's the latter. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 00:16, 1 March 2016 (UTC)

WikiCup 2015 March newsletter

One of Adam Cuerden’s several quality restorations during round 1

That's it, the first round is done, sign-ups are closed and we're into round 2. Forty-seven competitors move into this round (a bit shy of the expected 64), and we are roughly broken into eight groups of six. The top two of each group will go through to round 3, and then the top scoring 16 "wildcards" across all groups.

Twenty-two Good Articles were submitted, including three by   Cyclonebiskit (submissions), and two each by   MPJ-DK (submissions),   Hurricanehink (submissions),   12george1 (submissions), and   Cas Liber (submissions). Twenty-one Featured Pictures were claimed, including 17 by   Adam Cuerden (submissions) (the Round 1 high scorer). Thirty-one contestants saw their DYKs appear on the main page, with a commanding lead (28) by   Cwmhiraeth (submissions). Twenty-nine participants conducted GA reviews with   J Milburn (submissions) completing nine.

WikiCup 2016 March newsletter (update)

Along with getting the year wrong in the newsletter that went out earlier this week, we did not mention (as the bot did not report) that   Cas Liber (submissions) claimed the first Featured Article Persoonia terminalis of the 2016 Wikicup. DYK

Hello! Your submission of Karl Čermak at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! North America1000 15:19, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

There isn't much to comment on. The reviewer reviewed 1 of the 2 articles in the nomination, so what is needed is that another user reviews the second one. In the second article the reviewer encountered one spelling error, so I don't see any major issue there. @Northamerica1000: --Soman (talk) 17:14, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Karel Dufek

Hi-Karel Dufek of Czechoslovakia was a diplomat; he was ambassador to Brazil and Turkey. During the 1950s purges in the Czechoslavakia Communist Party, he was tried, convicted and imprisoned. He was later rehabilitated and released from prison. Dufek was also one of the surviving veterans of the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939 and just had his 100th birthday. Would you be open about starting an article about Karel Dufek? Many thanks-RFD (talk) 16:54, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Sure, I'll look into it later today or tomorrow. Thanks, --Soman (talk) 16:58, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for starting the article-RFD (talk) 12:10, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the tip. Still there are some stuff I'm unsure of, [1] gives a different place of birth, etc., but not sure if that is WP:RS. Also, the Who's Who reference says he got the 1st grade of the Virtuti Militari, which from the wiki article was given only to high commanders/politicians. --Soman (talk) 12:18, 19 March 2016 (UTC)

Franz Karmasin

I wrote you up a Nazi, who was left free to roam in Germany and continue Naziing until his death. In the reference from Die Zeit I added is enough material for another right-wing club, the Witikobund. They might go together as a triple DYK with your Carpathian German Party.
