Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Venture capital. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Why have I not removed other links?
editWhy have I not advertised others? Because I'm a single individual with limited time - anything that is already there escapes my view but anything new pops up to me because it's added when I'm actually here. That's a long way of saying - yes there are lots of links that should not be there but I don't have time to find and remove them all, but I'll stop any that cross my path when I'm here. Feel free to remove any that you feel are not suitable. --Charlesknight 10:51, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
Making a Suitable Link?
editCharlesknight: I do find very interesting to use Wkikpedia to find out web resource about something: aka external links... So I could help you and remove the link to "Private Equity Online" which is a commercial site in the External Links, or you could not delete the link I added to Private Equity Exchange which I find to be quite valid and interesting to people interested in Private Equity - they have many videos about private equity for free: is this not one of Wikipedia's purpose: increase the liquidity of knowledge? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soloren2001 (talk • contribs)
Yes but within the articles - we have very specific rules about external links - as for the "private enquity online" link - I've removed it. That link is not suitable, your link is not suitable - what more needs to be said? --Charlesknight 11:05, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
