Welcome edit

Hello Soledad Esperanza and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Jim1138 (talk) 06:53, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

May 2017 edit

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Mario Domm, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 05:22, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Mario Domm has been reverted.
Your edit here to Mario Domm was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://twitter.com/dragondomm, https://twitter.com/camilamx) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 05:48, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sources edit

No, you did not wp:cite a wp:reliable source. Any significant piece of information per wp:verifiability needs to be cited. You also removed sourced content and their citations without an acceptable explanation. The stuff you removed below the "References" is needed and should not be removed. May 2017 edit

Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Mario Domm.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Your edits are going against what says WP:BIO says, especially in regards to biographies of living person. I suggest you stop your disruptive editing and take your time to understand how Wikipedia works by reading those guidelines I've linked above. Erick (talk) 17:11, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

You didn't just add content without providing a reliable source. You also ignored the manual of style for biographies and the date formating guidelines as well (e.g. do not use ordinals on dates per WP:BADDATE). That's why I reverted your edits. Instead of telling me to revert my edit, I suggest you take read MOS:BIO, WP:BLP, and WP:IRS lest you end up being blocked blocked for your disruptive editing. Erick (talk) 17:21, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
You must demonstrate that you understand how Wikipedia and the steps you will take to ensure you will not make the same mistakes you made. The relevant policy I should've mentioned as well is verifiability. Any content you add must backed up by a reliable source. Also, please do not upload copyright images on Wiki Commons. Copyrighted images of living persons are not allowed on Wikipedia either as per WP:NFCC. Erick (talk) 17:35, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
What do you mean you "have the rights"? Did you take the photos themselves? Because it is the photographer who owns the photos. Erick (talk) 18:11, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Mario Domm edit

With your edit here, there are a number of problems.

  • Personal information was removed. Where he grew up and went to school. People like to read about this. It should stay.
  • Avoid the use of wp:puffery "Latin America’s music scene most influential musician" This factoid is also unsourced.
  • Any significant information needs to have a citation. The citation needs to be immediately after the bit of information. Just adding a citation to the bottom or expecting someone to read an entire website to find that information does not meet Wikipedia policy.
  • You can easily reuse a citation - see wp:NAMEDREFS.
  • Citations start with a <ref> and end with a </ref> {{cite web}} is a wp:template that can help one generate a reference.
  • No citation on this: "During his career he has placed 14 singles at the top position of the Mexican charts as well as on other countries."
  • No citation: "He has sold more than three million records, more than four million tickets and has given more than 500 concerts in 21 countries in America, Europe and Asia."
  • No citation: "He continued his career as singer and composer and produced successful records by the like of Kalimba, Aerosoul; and Reyli Barba, Reily en la luna"
  • No citation: "In 2007 the songs “Coleccionista de canciones” & “Quiero estar Contigo” also received an Exito SACM Award."
  • Almost all the awards are uncited.
  • Many other items which are not cited.
  • The image was incorrectly formated: [[File:Mario Domm 2017.jpg|thumb|Mario Domm]] Just use the "Mario Domm 2017.jpg (or what ever image). That how the wp:infobox is setup to work. See {{Infobox musical artist}} for more information
  • At the bottom, you removed {{Reflist|colwidth=30em}}, {{Camila}}, {{Latin Grammy Award for Record of the Year 2010s}}, {{Latin Grammy Award for Song of the Year 2010s}}, and {{Authority control}}
This stuff is needed and should not be removed

As you keep repeating the same mistake, I and probably others, are finding this rather frustrating. This is also called wp:edit warring which one can be wp:blocked for. I hope this helps. Jim1138 (talk) 18:42, 19 May 2017 (UTC)Reply
