Hello, I'm Cecil. Feel free to ask me anything.

NAV edit

Cecil, I support your decision to keep the criticism section in the Norton Antivirus article. It is a valid criticism, as you say. Keep up the good work, and don't be discouraged from being bold by wikipolitics. THE KING 01:31, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

David Beckham edit

Hi Cecil. I put LA Galaxy because from july 2007 onwards, he will play for LA galaxy. this has been done with previous players before they joined the team.

OK, but we had a big discussion about this on the David Beckham talk page. The thing is as per FIFA rules, he hasn't actually signed a full contract for them YET. He can only do this on July 1st, when his Real Madrid contract expires. What he has signed is a pre-contract, which simply states that he will sign for LA Galaxy on July 1st. I and a number of other people feel that it's wrong to therefore include any LA Galaxy info in his infobox as he is not currently at LA Galaxy (and the infobox is supposed to show information relating to the here and now). It is fine to report about it in the main article (accurately, obviously). Of course, something could happen (very unlikely of course) between now and July 1st (like maybe him being seriously injured or something) so to put this kind of info in his infobox just looks clumsy. It may have been done in other articles, but it would've been wrong to as well. Smoothy 16:28, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Be Warned - Rangers FC - an attempt to push through a controversial 'same club' approach edit

Hello. You have contributed to the Newco Rangers article so I thought yuou should be made aware that an attempt is being made to undermine this article by pushing through a 'same club' approach despite many of us believing this is heavily biased and very selective use of the sources. You may wish to follow what is proposed at the Talk:Rangers F.C/Sandbox. Spiritofstgeorge (talk) 12:44, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
