Golden Horseshoe Roads

Nick, thanks for the invitation to the project. I'm actually rather flattered! While I will chip in here and there when I see a need, I would prefer not to take on a role as you suggested. PKT 22:38, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Golden Horseshoe Roads

Hello again Nick:

  • Sure you can call me Wilson from now on, I don't mind.
  • I'll talk to Ms. Holman about you when I come :)
  • I have no idea what font Hamilton road signs use
  • I'll try to recruit more members
  • I think we should keep the WikiProject at the same size and scope it is right now. Or well, maybe we can start expanding, but later, perhaps in early 2008.
  • Yea, there's a big storm coming here. I don't really care if school stays open or closed, honestly.
  • Check out what time I came on to check my messages. It was only a last minute thing, so yea.

See you soon, Wilson "iloveancouver90909"(TalkMy Contributions) • Signed on 14 February 2007 at 0:03 EST

Wikipediholism

Under 12 and spends 3+ hours a day here? I don't mean to be rude, but do you know you must get a life urgently? Kind of, friends, or something, you know. Real friends, I mean, with which you can go out. I dunno, kid, I'm worried about you. --euyyn 02:16, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

I used to be considered a nerd too, back in my school days. Then one day I discovered I could run faster than many of my classmates. A friend told me how to shoot strong a football (soccer) and that was it; I was playing football with people and taking rays of sun. Later, when girls became my first worry, I discovered I could enhance my appearance by doing excercise. You are still to young to worry about that last one, but you must find a way to go out to do some social activity.
My girlfriend was like you when I knew her. She nearly had no friends, because she thougth everybody considered her inferior because of her shyness. It actually doesn't work that way: When somebody doesn't speak to you because he's shy, you don't think it is because of shyness, you merely think he doesn't like you. So it's a vicious circle: You feel they outcast you, but in reality they just think you dislike them (and hence doesn't speak to them).
I'll bet the answer is just more confidence in yourself... See, you're probably smarter than them. Every social thing whoever else does, you have the potential to do better. Hiding here in Wikipedia will not do anything for you or for your future. Learning to treat people is on the other hand essential for your future.
Sorry for extending so much... Just trying to help ;) --euyyn 14:39, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Golden Horseshoe Roads

Hi Nick - I've just read the project pages - you've mapped out (pardon the pun) a substantial task for yourselves. I'd be happy to help out - how do you envisage it working? Would you like some existing pages reviewed, or do you want to have me check out upcoming articles? Colonies Chris 09:49, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

AIV report

Thank you for making a report on the page Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Removing and reporting vandalism is a task vital to the functioning of wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn and report vandalism. Under the policy WP:VAND, Administrators are only able to block users if they have received a final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized since that warning was given. We have not been able to block this user in response to your report because it appears this has not yet occurred in this case. If a user who has not been warned vandalizes a page please ensure they receive the appropriate warning and only report them on AIV if they vandalize again soon after receiving a final warning. Thank you. Cbrown1023 talk 00:46, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Outreach department

I accept the job of being one of the people who are in charge of the outreach department, though i'm not sure what type of base page you mean. Qmwnebrvtcyxuz 22:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: Category:Streets in Toronto Renaming

A few things:

  • I didn't create the category. I just inserted a category sort into the tag for Category: Streets and squares by city so it shows up under "T" in that category.
  • Your renaming proposal hasn't been logged under Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 February 10 yet.
  • As for the renaming itself... I don't really mind too much either way, though my preference is to leave it as is. Looking under Category: Streets and squares by city, there are already many cities whose categories are named "Streets (and squares) in City X", and I'd much rather leave Toronto's category where it is in order to keep it consistent with other cities. My perception is that "roads" is used more for higher levels of government (county/state/country) instead. (Although, of course, the fact that there's no county structure above the City of Toronto does blur this line a bit.)

(I'll post the last bulletin point under Categories for Discussion once you or someone else file it there.) - Hinto 04:35, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

I only just realized now that you filed the request under Speedy instead, which I also don't quite agree with. I'll post what I said above there. - Hinto 04:54, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much for wishing me a happy Birthday. Qmwnebrvtcyxuz 21:29, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Since you told me to recruit new members for the Wikiproject, I've left a note on Littleghostboo's Userpage asking him to join. I tell you what he says when he replys.

P.S. I like your new green signature (:

OK, he has now added his name under the "pending members" section of the wikiproject page. Qmwnebrvtcyxuz 00:16, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Golden Horseshoe Roads.

Thank you for the invitation, but I don't think I really have the time. However, I like organizing things and have done quite a lot of categorization ... if you ever need any category help, don't hesitate to ask. -- Prove It (talk) 17:30, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject

Hi, I am not sure about the Horseshoe Wikiproject you have created... What do we have to do? And I am a bit busy, is it okay? How comitted must we be to be able to join a Wikiproject? Hope I can at least contribute something...Littleghostboo[ talk ] 01:26, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject

Umm...I don't live in the Golden Horseshoe... I live in Singapore. I am sorry that I cannot contribute much to the Wikiproject, but I sure hope I can help with grammatical errors and spelling errors. I am still a bit new, so I am not so sure about the styles... But I sure hope I can do something to help. But, can I join the Wikiproject even if I live in Singapore?Littleghostboo[ talk ] 06:36, 16 February 2007 (UTC)

WP:GHR

I live in Utah, America, I'll be doing clean-up. I don't really want to tell City. All we really need to now is weather or not the members live in the Golden Horseshoe or not. I'm guessing that your going to create articles. Qmwnebrvtcyxuz 15:12, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Hamilton City Roads

Hi Nick, I am at the planning stages for my participation in the Golden Horseshoe Roads WikiProject and I see that most (if not all) of the Highways that go through Hamilton, Ontario have been done already. What part in the project would you like for me to work on as far as Hamilton roads are concerned? Are we talking about the main city streets that these freeways/ expressways travel through like Upper Gage, Upper James and Upper Wellington for example? Thanks Nhl4hamilton 14:11, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
