The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Linking to disambiguation pages edit

In your two recent edits to London Borough of Hounslow [1], [2], you added two Wikilinks to a disambiguation page. These pages are meant for readers who have searched on a topic which can refer to multiple different things, to direct them (hopefully) to the specific article they were looking for. So it's usually unintended to link to them, rather than just linking to the specific instance meant. The two in question were Appledore and Ashton. Going to those pages, you can see that they offer a list of articles that the reader needs to chose from. Usually, I would just fix it with the specific link myself, but I'm not familiar enough with the intracacies of English place names to know which ones you meant. So I'm hoping you can review the new links, and fix them so that they point to the specific article intended. Thank you. signed, Willondon (talk) 19:26, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Willondon Thank you Will, I'm new from Wikipedia so I can make some mistakes and I will add Appledore from Kent and Ashton. Smartiesfromlondis (talk) 08:09, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Willondon sorry for talking to you again but which (Ashton) are you talking about? Smartiesfromlondis (talk) 08:14, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well, the real question is which Ashton are you talking about? You placed the link, so you should find out which page the reader should go to, and make that the link, instead of requiring the reader to guess. Or you could remove the link. signed, Willondon (talk) 23:08, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Forms of English edit

Hi, this is Joyous!. I reversed your edit to this article. Because this is the English Wikipedia, not the American Wikipedia, we've had to find a way to deal with variations in language, spelling, and (in this case) formatting dates. We landed on a set of compromises that you can read about here. Joyous! Noise! 15:53, 24 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
