Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:TapRoot® System edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:TapRoot® System, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Conflict of interest edit

  Hello, SmarterSearchJoJo. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:Mark Paradies, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 03:15, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Blocked edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Request reason:

I am new to Wikipedia and didn't fully understand parameters and rules for posting articles. I thought this was a space to collaborate and share topics that haven't been shared here yet as this is a resource of information. I did not intend to be promotional or spammy and would like the opportunity to correct this instead of just being blocked outright. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SmarterSearchJoJo (talkcontribs) 14:22, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

The onus is on you to understand what the term "encyclopedia" means before signing up to contribute to one. MER-C 17:54, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I understand that my edits and submissions came off as advertisements and that was not my intention. I recognize this and will review further edits and submissions in order to comply and not violate this or any future policy. I will further substantiate edits and/or submissions with better links and citations from third-party sources. I will do a better job to ensure that contributions are informational and not to come off as an advertisement. My intention was to share information that Wikipedia was lacking, and I will make sure that future efforts do not come off as "spam." I would like the opportunity to correct my mistakes and contribute to Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SmarterSearchJoJo (talkcontribs) 18:38, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Wikipedia is not for merely sharing information; this is an encyclopedia, which summarizes what independent reliable sources state about subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability. You will need to better show that you understand this. You will also need to review conflict of interest and paid editing and indicate how your future edits will comply with these policies, as well as describe what subjects you will edit about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 21:48, 30 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Help edit

@331dot: I have inserted a Paid Contributor section on my talk page and have read the links you supplied in your decline response. I am not sure how to demonstrate my understanding without ability to edit pages and want to seek your suggestions on how to demonstrate this. Thank you in advance! You will need to make another unblock request, to be reviewed by someone else. Since I've already reviewed an unblock request, I can't review another. You will not be unblocked to edit about things related to your conflict of interest. If that's all you are interested in doing, this is probably the end of the line for your Wikipedia career. If you want to be a general, individual Wikipedia contributor and edit about subjects unrelated to your conflict of interest, you will need to tell what those subjects might be. If you build up a good edit history of such edits (at least six months if not a year) that shows you are indeed here to be a general contributor, you may later be permitted to make edit requests to existing articles related to your COI, or use Articles for Creation to submit drafts. That's what I would want to see, at least. The next admin may feel differently, and if they do, it's okay with me.
I will add that your draft as it was written had no chance of being accepted as an article; it was just a product description, sourced to nothing but press releases and other primary sources. Primary sources do not establish notability(as Wikipedia defines it). Wikipedia is only interested in what independent sources say about a subject- such sources must be unaffiliated with the subject and must have chosen on their own to give the subject significant coverage(not just republish a press release, advertisement, or routine announcement). Wikipedia articles are not just for merely telling about the subject. 331dot (talk) 18:37, 31 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
