Sibiraj

edit

The article Sibiraj has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- Merope 16:15, 2 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading Image:200px-Trisha.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Yamla 04:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Bhanu.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Bhanu.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Achanurangatha Veedu

edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Achanurangatha Veedu, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.

Sorry this is late, I totally forgot! Veesicle (Talk) (Contribs) 23:34, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image copyrights

edit

Please do not upload copyrighted images. Images that are obviously copyright violations will be deleted on sight. In order for Wikipedia to use an image, it must either be released by its owner under a "free" license (such as the GFDL), meaning, one that allows anyone to use the image for any reason, or it must be used under a claim of fair use. Most images that you would find on some website are NOT appropriate to use on Wikipedia. Thank you. --BigDT 17:43, 10 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please also only create Interlanguage links to other Wikipedias if they currently have an article about the same topic. If the article does exist on another Wikipedia, be sure to give it's name after the colon inside the link. ×Meegs 17:54, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Blocked again

edit

You have been warned, blocked, and now warned several more times about uploading unfree copyrighted images that are not compatible with Wikipedia. I have just deleted your two most recent uploads (of Priyamani and Mallika Kapoor), both of which you had previously uploaded with different licensing information. Image copyright is not a guessing game; you must not specify that an image available under a particular license (such as the GFDL) unless you are certain that that is the case. Only the owner of an photograph, usually the photographer or the company that they work for, is able to decide how to license the image. If they do not specify otherwise, they retain all rights to their work. We rarely allow such unfree copyrighted works in Wikipedia, and we never allow them when their only purpose is to show a living, active actor. Do not upload any additional images until you have thoroughly read each of the following pages:

I have blocked you for two days. That should be adequate time for you to begin to read about and understand the basics of copyright and Wikipedia policies. Even so, given your long history, I strongly suggest that when you return that you only upload images that you have created yourself. For photographs, that means images that you have taken with the camera in your own hands. If you misrepresent the copyright status of any additional images in the future, you will likely be blocked for a period of weeks or months. 18:56, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Asin.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Asin.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:49, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Asin.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Asin.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:34, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image on Asin Thottumkal

edit

I have reverted your changes to that page because the image you inserted does not have a good fair-use rationale (see WP:IUP) and is of inferior quality compared to the image that was there previously. The previous image (which I have put back) is being used with permission and is of good quality. There really is no need to replace that image with one of your own. --clpo13(talk) 20:17, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Bhanu

edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Bhanu, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Ananda Tandavam

edit

I have nominated Ananda Tandavam, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ananda Tandavam (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Mspraveen (talk) 15:25, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Ananda Tandavam

edit

A tag has been placed on Ananda Tandavam, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. TNX-Man 16:14, 1 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Smart-pari! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 874 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Hi. In Deepika Padukone, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Aishwarya (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
