folk/traditional music
Hello, please stop changing every instance of "folk music" to "traditional music". Neither is a dab page and former does not always imply the later. -MrFizyx (talk) 02:00, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

- Hello to you as well, my pleasure to make your acquaintance. RE: folk/traditional edits... Reg/Ex not executed as planned, first few instances looked OK, problem resolved, my apologies extended. I will only change Folk to Folk Music or similar variant folk --> folk. Not necessarily a DAB or DAB Redirect but with over 11,000 links to the redirect Drums, 4000+ to Keyboards, 2000+ to Guitars these articles (traditional/pop/rock/punk MODERN music related) are some of the worst in the encyclopedia! Genre's are equally in bad shape New Wave --> New Wave music, Punk --> Punk rock, Soul --> Soul music, Gospel --> Gospel music. It only makes sense to edit several issues with each edit. Folk was the only Genre in which I attempted a regex type fix. As a genre Folk is useless and many link to folk (music) a redirect to folk music which reads like a DAB page in pop ups. Traditional was the likely choice. Obviously Folk music itself needs a cleanup. Having already disambiguated Punk, New Wave, and their variants / redirects, and also a major portion of the poorly formatted genre links to Soul and Gospel, Folk is a tough one. Regardless I'll make only the above mentioned edit when cleaning up pages with links to drums, keyboards, guitars and other music related plural (red/redirect) links and dab redirects, and leave the rest for an expert such as yourself. Happy editing. Slysplace talk ♫ 23:15, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
- Slyspace! Thanks for the note. I'm sorry I was so curt with you earlier. I was just trying to keep things brief. I neglected to thank you for your efforts. I do appreciate your efforts at disambiguation. Thanks for hearing my concerns and happy editing to you as well. -MrFizyx (talk) 01:42, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
