List of pastebins edit

I've added a massive list of pastebins to the talk page of Talk:List_of_pastebins. ZacBowlingtalk 01:31, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's good to know I'm not the only one looking at these pages. I always feel biased when removing someone else's link. --Slepp (talk) 07:15, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Pastebin edit

The quote wasn't really necessary to prove who came before who. The data in the ref tags wasn't really a citation, but just said how they came to that conclusion which goes along with WP:OR. A ref tag with the ling to archive.org after the year is ok though. -ZacBowlingtalk 04:15, 26 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re:Pastebin edit

Slepp, you've removed my link a number of times from the wiki, which I think is slightly ironic. I publish a private pastebin for people to use which is quite different to the public paste bins out there. You claim that pastebin.ca has alternative features to pastebin.com. I completely disagree, your site is no different to the other 1000 pastebins out there. I'm going to put my pastebin link back into the page one more time, if you remove it I'll make a complaint. If you want my link removed from the page, then kindly remove pastebin.ca as well. Many thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jph98 (talkcontribs) 22:48, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

-- Notably, you can't contact your private pastebin. So why even put it here? Second, it is different and has been vetted via discussion, as the comments on the page clearly state. The fact your hostname doesn't even resolve is reason to remove it from the page. --Slepp (talk) 00:10, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

-- I suggest you do your homework, that's a pretty lame attempt at getting an entry removed from wikipedia. The domain name does resolve and if you looked a little closer at the pastebin you'd see that all you need is the anonymous link to retrieve your paste. One complaint coming up. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jph98 (talkcontribs) 15:40, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

--- Read your own talk page, Jph98. --Slepp (talk) 18:48, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Pastebin.ca edit

Hi, i came across the article you have created for your project. Can you please justify the creation of your article? i find it highly suspect for someone to create wiki articles on his own projects and use links from your own personal blog as citations. Your project is not open source and all you sister projects linked from pastebin.ca have advertisements as a source of revenue. Please read Wikipedia:Your_first_article#Things_to_avoid . Do you have any objection for the article to be nominated for deletion? -- PlaneMad|YakYak 19:57, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Yes, it's open source, it's not that hard to find the codebase. Other than that, go ahead and nominate; it was there when List of pastebins was around, and there have been no prior objections when it was referenced. --Slepp (talk) 20:52, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, its nice to know that you nominated it yourself instead of pointlessly fighting about. Im no expert on the subject, but if you have time, you should start the Comparison of pastebins article and compare their features, since there are so many out there -- PlaneMad|YakYak 05:07, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Worth a shot. Started the page up, but nowhere _near_ complete.. Just templating it out still. --Slepp (talk) 00:10, 3 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Comparison of pastebins edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Comparison of pastebins. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comparison of pastebins. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 20 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Comparison of pastebins edit

The article Comparison of pastebins has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

nice list, but there is no 3rd part ref and all table entries should be removed per WP:WTAF; WP:EL/WP:ELNO.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. mabdul 10:01, 7 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
