  Hello, I'm Grayfell. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to B. Kevin Turner have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 01:16, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

  Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to B. Kevin Turner. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. 69.119.123.19 (talk) 01:26, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Skyyeee. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page B. Kevin Turner, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 02:01, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello?

Hello? Are you reading this? Did you read the request for you to take this issue to the article's talk page? Have you read about having a conflict of interest? Do you have any questions that need to be answered? Grayfell (talk) 02:20, 17 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Grayfall thank you for the insight. I have no conflicts of interest and am not paid or know the person. I just picked a random page to start editing and learn as I am new here. I will work to make the article align with Wikipedia's guideline rules. Thank you for your help!skyyeee (talk)
