Persistent spammers will have their websites blacklisted from Wikipedia and potentially penalized by search engines.

We have been using the "Voices of Democracy" website as a guide throughout the semester so many of us used this as an external link on relevant public speeches on Wikipedia. Because we all edited on the same night, for the same website, Wikipedia thought we were spamming. In reality, though, it was a class assignment and the "Voices of Democracy" webpage had relevant and important information that added to the articles}}
