Good work|

edit

Thanks very much for your work with new Raphael paintings articles. I made some of them (also fr many other painters) but got tired after a bit, so you're welcome also. Just a note: titles of paintings must be between italics: i.e., Doni Tondo or, in the abstract, The Triumph of Galatea. Bye! --Attilios 15:45, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Mhmhmh... I think tis' complicate. You should ask to some more experience editor to modify the template! Let me know! --Attilios 13:43, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Segolene Royal

Hi, thanks for the help undoing the vandalism on the Segolene Royal article today! Vvuppala 04:47, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi - per your request on my talk page, I just though I'd resond (as I'm sure you know) that it's been unprotected by another sysop. Regards, Martinp23 19:30, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Language matters..."

edit

Hej, dear fellow editor! -- please accept my apologies if I've been somewhat harsh in criticizing what you wrote in response on the Humanitites Reference desk query on the West Bank and Gaza Strip. My intention was to make you aware of nuances in writing on this topic that's so familiar to me (though I'm hardly an expert!). I write quite a lot about Israel and related matters on public forums, and not always as effectively as I'd like. I do try to exercise scrupulous usage in avoiding generalizations, while (like most people) not always able to write exhaustively and definitively. However, in responsive writing I do feel my tone could be improved, and I'll work on that -- but also wanted to tell you personally, here. (And you'll note I went on to use more explicit language myself, hopefully in a responsible way...!) -- Cheers, Deborahjay 13:21, 25 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Suzuki

edit

Hey there. I would actually love a photocopy of that book. All of the essays and such in the book I have, Branded to Thrill: The Delirious Cinema of Suzuki Seijun, are available at that Cinefiles link on the Suzuki article but I think I'm going to scan the pictures for use in the article (if I can find the power cord), lots of behind the scenes stuff, yours may have the same thing. I live in Canada but if you're willing to do that I'll turn the email on on my talk page and we can figure out the details. That'd be great. Doctor Sunshine 06:27, 26 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your excellent response...

edit

...on my Raúl vs. Raoul query (Language Reference Desk) is more than appreciated -- it's IMO an outstanding example of supportive assistance in both content and form, besides being timely. If, as the saying goes, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery," please know that I'd be happy to emulate you as I myself attempt to help out on the RDs! Thanks so much -- Deborahjay 09:07, 27 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Linking to templates

edit

Hi, you can use {{tl|film-screenshot}} syntax to link to templates, like this: {{film-screenshot}}. You can also use {{subst:tl|film-screenshot}} in which case it will be expanded like this: {{film-screenshot}}. {{tl}} probably stands for "template link." --Kjoonlee 01:34, 5 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Visual arts template

edit

Howdy, Skarioffszky. I saw that you made a change to the image on the {{Visual arts}} template. Your boldness is appreciated. I wanted to invite you to join the discussion that is taking place on the Portal talk page with regards to changing that image along with the image at the top of the portal page itself. Based on previous discussion, I'm pretty sure that the image you selected doesn't solve the issues that have come up. But again, your boldness is appreciated. Cheers. Careful for 3RR

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Virginia Tech massacre. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content which gains a consensus among editors. Thank you. --Dynaflow 09:35, 29 April 2007 (UTC) Reply

Holland Festival!

edit

Cool, thanks for the link to the Holland Festival. I’m not sure how many of the concerts I’ll be able to attend, but hopefully I’ll get too a few. It looks like it also includes quite a bit of avant-guard music/dance, which is really what I’m looking forward to in Europe! Amsterdam is so lucky to have thing like Doctor Atomic staged on a regular basis. S.dedalus 05:27, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject chess

edit

Hi, I have noticed you have done some really good work on chess related articles. Could I invite you to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Chess? On the talk page Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Chess we discuss issues relating to the overall consistency of chess related articles (for example a few days ago someone suggested the idea of an infobox for chess openings). In any case keep up the good work! Voorlandt 12:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and thanks very much for having joined the WikiProject Chess. I hope you will enjoy it and find it an agreeable place for discussions and sharing of ideas.
By the way, I have slightly changed the Category:WikiProject Chess participants on your user page, only for technical reasons: the software unduly sorted you under the letter "U" because it recognised you as "User Skarioffszky". Now with the minor change I made, hopefully you are correctly sorted under the letter "S" because it correctly recognises you as "User:Skarioffszky". Sorry for this technical hassle. Of course if you have a problem with that please feel free to revert my change.
Anyway, have a nice experience on Wikipedia, and let's meet in the future on Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Chess for some work together! SyG 19:36, 19 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ron Luther now listed for deletion

Your prod at Ron Luther was contested (you really should use an edit summary for something important like that) and so is now listed for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ron Luther. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 21:41, 13 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

FA: Branded to Kill

edit

Hello there, thanks very much. It's only a matter of time before I get back to Suzuki now. Hey, you must have got a chance to see Detective Bureau and Tale by now, what did you think? Doctor Sunshine talk 20:26, 5 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

There's nothing like an unexpected vaudeville number, that was my favourite part too. I liked Tales, there was a lot of great stuff in it, but the conventional thriller aspect got a little boring. Still, glad to have seen it.
I trust Rayns but, actually, it looks like I'm to blame. I had both Rayns' "known to most people in Japan" and Hibiki Kurei's comments in mind and seem to have misinterpreted or overstated them. You're right. I'd intended to integrate the trivia into the rest of the article eventually but even the Oshima trial won't be that interesting without some contextualization, so I'll remove both for now maybe work them back into the article at a later date. You are now a Reviewer

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:02, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
