Anon vandal from St. John's?

edit

Hey, Sjcodysseus. I gather that you're at St. John's now, and I noticed that you've reverted some recent vandalism from the IP 199.89.180.9. The vandal at that IP appears to be a St. John's student, and for some unknown reason also vandalized my user page with a random and baseless accusation of antisemitism. (I've no idea where that came from, or why he or she chose me to accuse.) I'm a St. John's alum, and have done a few minor edits on the St. John's page, which I think is the only connection I've got with this person. You referred to him or her as a "known vandal", which I can see from the IP's contribs — but do you know anything more about this vandal that could help me understand why I was chosen, and why that particular slander? It's just a little troubling to have something like that thrown at you with no warning, and I thought you might be able to help. Thanks. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 21:07, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I got nothing on that vandal. I've just reverted some stuff from them in the past (spent a little time today cleaning up after them. I don't understand the anti-semitism thing either. Sjcodysseus 21:32, 15 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Oh, well. The closest thing I can figure to a motivation is that his vandalism to the St. John's page was reverted to one that was under my name, so maybe he or she identified me with the reversion of his vandalism. Guess I shouldn't waste time trying to understand the motivations of vandals anyway. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 00:51, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you!
