Let me know if you're taking this to a wider venue anywhere, to look at the entire concept of the category tree.

Personally, I think Wikipedia should only have attributes like "female", "American", "novelist", rather than categories like "female American novelists", and leave it to the user to combine attributes for searches like "female + American + novelist". That requires rebuilding the search function, but would get rid of this hopelessly sexist, racist, inconsistent, always changing and constantly fought-over category system. The sooner, the better!!
