Metroid Secret Worlds

edit

You said the secret worlds have no place in the Metroid wiki? It is one of the most famous aspects of the game! I feel it certainly has a place in the article. I wrote the section become it was mentioned in the discussion page. It is perfectly relevant to the game, and it should be included. Surely these wiki articles should only be cleaned up if they include irrelevant content. I don't think this information on the secret worlds that I took the time to write can be described as irrelevant, especially if it was requested.

I know you meant well, but that section was too much like something one might read on GameFAQs, and Wikipedia is not a game guide or turtorial (see point four on that page). Pages should cover only basic gameplay, not specific facets (You don't see a section on speedrunning, do you? That's also a huge feature of the game)Furthermore, the prose was not at all encyclopedic. The question marks, exclamation points, and overly casually demeanor should not exist on any article here. Read the Manual of Style to see how articles should be written. If you disagree with my removal, bring it up on the talk page. SixteenBitJorge 00:11, 12 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

OK, I can agree with what you are saying. However, can we agree to keep the secret worlds section (I will re-write it to cover just the facts about the existence of the secret world) and remove the door-jump technique section? This just keeps the section factual and removes the GameFAQs style explanation you speak of. Funnily enough, I was thinking of adding a small section about speedrunning. You say pages should only contain basic information? I think I would lose interest in Wikipedia if all pages just kept to the basic hard facts. If I add information about the secret worlds of Metroid, written in an encyclopedic manor, would you be happy to have it remain there?

It depends on how it turns out. If you're really dedicated to this subject matter, I'd suggest it be put on its own page, that is, if this gameplay facet spans multiple games (I know there's something like that in Metroid Prime). That's what's done for speedrunning, and I'd have no problem with it. I feel like a section for that on the Metroid page itself would feel a bit out-of-place, but a "see also" link to "Metroid series secret worlds" could be fine. I don't know how it will fly with other users, though. You just make the page, I'll help you copy edit it, and we'll see how it turns out. SixteenBitJorge 18:16, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Blue Man Group event

edit

Adding the opening of the new Blue Man Group venue in Orlando to the June 7th events page does NOT constitute vandalism. Think before you revert.

I don't know what you're talking about. SixteenBitJorge 01:27, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
