Speedy deletion nomination of Foam Concrete

edit

Hello Siva175,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Foam Concrete for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Deunanknute (talk) 00:49, 22 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you.
Please do not remove the {{copyvio}} template from articles. Your action has been reverted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept non-free text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted, and removing copyright notices will not help your case. You can properly contest the deletion at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. If you are the owner of the material, you may release the material under the Creative Commons and GFDL licenses, as detailed at WP:IOWN. Alternatively, you are welcome to create a draft in your own words at a temporary subpage linked from the article. If you continue to insert copyright violations and/or remove copyright notices, you may be blocked from editing.

Speedy deletion nomination of Foam Concrete

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Foam Concrete requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://ir.nmu.org.ua/xmlui/bitstream/handle/123456789/127030/138b2e322dec78dc2bf721f23af36a14.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. You're welcome, but...

edit

Hi Siva175, you're welcome, but you need to fundamentally rewrite the other sections too. Namely, the manufacturing, properies and recent trends and development sections. If you don't manage to do this in the next few hours I'll blank those sections or elevate the article to full copyright investigation - where it may still be deleted. Although I appreciate your efforts to fix the article, there is still a lot of work to be done on it. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. We cannot publish plagiarism or even close paraphrasing. It runs the risk the Wikipedia could be subject to legal action. The added problem with this article is that every version of the page history contains copyright infringing material, but I can help you with that problem once you have rewritten the offending sections of text. Bellerophon talk to me 17:02, 22 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Bellerophon for your guidance. I'll edit the same as quick as possible. Just give me time till tomorrow as it is midnight now. I'll finish it by tomorrow.

Hi, I've completed altering the said other sections as well. Kindly let me know whether it is ok now. I've really worked hard to elaborate and used my own words. I'm very much sure none of the section reflects the copy of any reference. Thanks.

Solved Disambiguation pages problem as well. Just for your info.

Hello Siva, unfortunately the article still has problems. It appears that your edit to fix the problems introduced some new copy and pasted material from other sources. Please read the advice given below by Moonriddengirl and then drop me a message if you would like my help rewriting the article, in original prose, from scratch. Bellerophon talk to me 09:09, 23 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi, kindly help me to rewrite the article as per the standards of wikipedia

Certainly, but it won't happen overnight. I'll make a start in the next few hours. Bellerophon talk to me 19:36, 28 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks a lot. Please take your own time. I appreciate your efforts to rewrite the article.

Hi, have you find some time to rewrite this article? Will it take long time for you?

Hi, I've modified the article to counter the claims raised on copyright violation. Kindly check and let me know if this suffice.

Siva, I'm afraid it won't suffice. The whole article as you added it to Wikipedia is unusable, and changing bits and pieces will not make it usable. For instance, your modification did not impact the following:
Source Source text Article text
[1] The mixture is either poured or pumped into assembled moulds of blocks or form-work of reinforced structural elements or poured onto flat roofs or voids for thermal insulation or filling. The foam imparts free flowing characteristics to this slurry due to ball bearing effect of foam bubbles enabling it to easily flow into all corners and compact by itself in the moulds/forms without requiring any kind of vibration or compaction. As explained to you below, we just can't take content that has been previously published like this. Our material needs to have accurate, verifiable information, but original language and presentation.
Please don't make changes directly to that article. It should not be modified directly once it is blanked. Changes you make may not be incorporated in the final version. User:Bellerophon is working on a rewrite at Talk:Foam Concrete/Temp. You are welcome to help him there, but your goal should be to make sure that none of your copied content remains, not to simply remove that which has been identified. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:35, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi Moonriddengirl, I can understand the concerns that you have raised. I accept and respect the same. I basically want to create a General article on Foam Concrete as it is very popular and getting popular in many countries and my intention to include it in the encyclopedia of wikipedia is that the other unknown people also can get to know about this product. I'll try to work with Bellerophon to rewrite the article from the scratch. Thanks.
User:Bellerophon has now completed enough of a rewrite that I feel the copyright concerns should be eliminated. If you want to contribute further, you can now do so directly in the article. Please be careful to respect our copyright policies. Thanks! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:22, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello Siva175, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing.

I'm afraid that the article Foam Concrete is still far too substantial a problem under our copyright policies for us to retain. I have not deleted it, but I have blanked it, as it will need to be rewritten "from scratch." There are just a few examples of issues I've found on the talk page of the article - there are others. We cannot create articles on Wikipedia by copying fragments of our sources, I'm afraid.

If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 03:56, 23 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
