New Drawings on Timeline of human evolution edit

Hi, im User:Mateuszica, i created the article Timeline of human evolution back in july 2005. I also made much of the drawings on the page. I spent lots of time on it and i did that with passion.

Its good to see the new drawings that you created on the article, but at the same time its sad for me, its like throwing away something you like very much.

  • I also appreciated the coloured versions of my drawing.

  • Maybe we can work together to improve more.
  • I am planning to make computer generated 3d graphic versions of these drawing in a near future.

Hope you finish all the drawings, Best wishes,

Mateus Zica (talk) 02:12, 22 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Mateus, sorry I just saw your message... No need to feel sad at all, these are colored versions of your work and it wouldn't be possible to create without your paintings in the first place! This is why I gave credit to you of course in the "Source" section of the file in Wikimedia Commons. These painting could definitely be improved, a 3D version would be amazing indeed. I'm really not the right person for it though due to lack of experience and lack of time these days. You can look around the Wikimedia community for some other artists who might be able to help though. Sisyphos23 (talk) 10:29, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

TOP 4 edit

I can see a nice job you've done here but there are still some shortcomings to be removed. Could you please improve this photo some more? I can still see the watermark. Thanks. Vearthy (talk) 18:37, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's OK now. Thanks ;) We would be pleased if you could visit our Photographic Lab more often and help us with our tasks. Thanks for participating. Vearthy (talk) 19:37, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
It's great to see you answered to my invitement to Photographic Lab. It would be great if you did the tasks more carefully. I can see a cloned pattern in this photo and it looks a bit unnatural. Could you please just change it a little bit? Thanks again for your efforts ;) Vearthy (talk) 13:13, 6 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

MS Express Samina edit

Thanks for the graphic of the MS Express Samina disaster. I put it on all the language versions but since I don't know Greek I could not caption it on the Greek page. Maybe you could put an appropriate caption under it. SpeakFree (talk) 23:35, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome :). I've added the caption in the Greek Wikipedia. By the way if you want a rough translation of any relevant text to English it'd be my pleasure to help. Also, I didn't put much effort in the description of the file in the Commons, so feel free to edit it with more info anytime. --Sisyphos23 (talk) 23:47, 13 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I changed the description slightly. The file doesn't need that much explanation. Maybe you could do a Greek version of the image for el.wikipedia.org. If the Greek WP article has major details which aren't covered in the English language version please let me know. BTW I've been to Paros several times in the past 15 years so that's why I'm interested (my parents always stay there in the summer). Have travelled on ferries like the Samina a few times in the '90s (maybe even on the actual boat, I don't remember, though I recall that I did travel with Hellas ferries). SpeakFree (talk) 16:04, 15 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
First of all thanks for the barnstar, much appreciated :D. I've also created and uploaded a Greek version of the map, even though there seems to be some rendering error (working on it right now). I've read both articles (the English & Greek one), and apart from some extra minor details in the Greek article, everything seems fine. Many of my relatives live in Paros and I've also been there several times. I'm pretty sure I've traveled on Samina at least once! --Sisyphos23 (talk) 00:11, 16 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Black mask Graphic edit

Thank you for your work on the grpahic File:Black Mask3501.jpg I was unaware of the needs work tag on it. I am the original uploader of the file, your work makes the image much more presentable. It may even take it out of fair use and into "original" depending on how much work you did.K3vin (talk) 23:28, 22 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome, glad you like it! Well, I'm not perfectly informed about the licenses, so I can't really say for sure whether we can take it out of fair use or not (I haven't work on it that much, but if you believe it's good enough to let us change the license feel free to do it.--Sisyphos23 (talk) 23:42, 22 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

File:Amadeo_I,_rey_de_España_.jpg edit

Fantastic job on the painting, thank you! I do have two extra requests. Do you think you could remove the lower right corner marks (in blue: "T. 456"; yellow tag: "67"); and secondly, your upload seems to be a tad darker than the original. Could you make it about the same brightness as the original? Thanks : ) – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 07:25, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Done, I've removed the lower right corner marks but I can't see any difference when it comes to brightness :/.--Sisyphos23 (talk) 17:29, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
That looks perfect, thank you! That wasn't an easy one. I'm honestly not sure what sort of images are supposed to be in the Top 4. My intention was never to "take over" lol. I did read on the discussion page that people get tired of all the "remove watermark" images, so sometimes I try to mix it up a little. Anyway, as for the brightness, I've noticed that pretty much every image you upload becomes darker than the original. I thought you were tweaking curve settings or fixing contrast. But if you're not aware of it, perhaps your monitor isn't calibrated, and the gamma settings are off? – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 19:13, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Oh really :( ? Damn :S! Thanks for letting me know, gonna find a way to fix this hopefully :)! As for the Top 4, yeah the last one wasn't an easy one indeed, took me a while :P. A huge 'thank you' for keeping the Top 4 running. We really appreciate it. --Sisyphos23 (talk) 11:12, 7 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Well, forget the calibration issue; it could be something else, because apparently, the "darkening" doesn't always happen, or doesn't seem to. Here is an example where the image became darker:
  1. Original image: [1]
  2. Your alteration: [2] — you removed the watermark, but the image became slightly darker. Perhaps this was intentional, and not a mistake? Can you see any difference on your monitor if you flip between the two images side-by-side?
Here is an example where the image doesn't seem to change value:
  1. Before: [3]
  2. After: [4]
I'm not sure what software you're using, but if it's Photoshop, there have been other examples of the image darkening after saving. But since the darkening doesn't always seem to happen, then perhaps you're applying a value changing command by some other means? Otherwise, I don't really know... – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 22:22, 7 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for you help and the examples, really helpful. I think the problem has to do with Photoshop 'color profiles', working on it.--Sisyphos23 (talk) 18:53, 13 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oops sorry! edit

I just added four new images only to see you'd archived it already. Sorry! Feel free to replace my four images if you found four better ones. – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 19:09, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Nope, you did the right thing. Actually I was hoping someone would take care of that 'cause I was really busy yesterday, and I'm not that good at picking images for the Top 4 Requests. Thanks! --Sisyphos23 (talk) 10:07, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Top 4 name change? edit

I've been meaning to ask you, on the Top 4 talk page, there was a (rather odd) discussion about the name "Top 4". I was thinking of changing a few things to make it less, um, offensive? to others, as well as change any references to "day" or "today" and any time-frame. For example, "Today's top 4 requests" would read "Four Requests". Do you have an opinion on this? By the way, awesome job on File:Plaza_de_Armas_terminada.jpg. – Kerαunoςcopiagalaxies 19:15, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for letting me know. Gonna answer there.--Sisyphos23 (talk) 10:18, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
