September 2017 edit

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to The Adventurers (Comic). I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! The Adventurers edit

Welcome!

I have redirected your new article The Adventurers to the article on Aircel because it did not appear to pass the notability guidelines. This has not deleted your work, which can be restored very easily.

Before we can restore it, however, we need a source showing the comic series is notable. I haven't been able to find anything through Google searches, but this may be because the generic nature of the name. For a comic series, notability can take many forms. The most common are reviews or previews on comic websites, but the age of this comic makes those reviews unlikely. Awards are also a strong sign, but there weren't many available to win in 1986.

Do you know if The Adventurers (or Scott Behnke) were ever covered in Comic Buyer's Guide, The Comics Journal, Comics Interview, or another similar magazine? If so, we can restore the article and I will help you craft it into an informative piece.

In the meantime, you may want to look through some of the material at Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Comics to see how other editors are looking for when they talk about notability and style. You can also view comic-themed articles that have been recognized for content here.

I look forward to seeing your future efforts. Argento Surfer (talk) 13:08, 19 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the reply, and I'm sorry you've had a bad experience so far. I hope you'll reconsider giving up entirely. You started with article creation, which isn't as new-user friendly as other parts of the experience. It requires you to learn the proper markup and coding, templates, and images all at once. If you try improving some existing articles, the learning curve won't be as steep. Once you get the hang of the basics, you can try restoring your Adventurers article. You may also consider adding to the Grand Comics Database website. I believe it's more welcoming to first-hand information than Wikipedia. That way you can still share your knowledge with people who want to find it. Argento Surfer (talk) 19:28, 20 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
