Speedy deletion nomination of Egg franky

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Egg franky, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Katieh5584 (talk) 10:59, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Paneer franky

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Paneer franky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.khanakhazana.com/recipes/view.aspx?id=2649. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Copyright - always a problem area. You see, Wikipedia is licensed for free use by anyone anywhere, subject only to acknowledging that Wikipedia is the source. This is under Creative Commons CC-BY-SA 3.0. What you brought in had already been published, and that means that it is copyright to someone. Who it is, that doesn't really matter. Even if you wrote it, it still can't be used here if it has been published. Well, 70 or so years after the death of the author, it can - it will then be in the public domain. But there is another problem too. Wikipedia has articles about various foods, but we don't publish recipes. An article about Codswallop Pie will say that actually contains mutton and not cod, and always has carrot and cabbage in it, and never has any mint in it. It doesn't say how many grams of carrot, or how many of cabbage, or how long to cook it. It will give the history of the pie, but not the recipe. (Don't look for a recipe for that pie - I've made it up. I might actually try it one day...) I hope you understand this. There are lots of places for posting recipes, but we aren't one of them. Articles like Gulab jamun are fine - if you want to create articles, have a look at that one first. OK? Peridon (talk) 16:21, 6 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Dextra

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dextra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Dextra

edit

Sorry, but even though you might not have intended to promote it, it came across like an advertisement. Wording like "Many spellbinding events covering all genres of technology and management, Dextra brings some of the best conceptions for the mankind to the forefront . The huge amount of prize money is just another epitome of the heights we have scaled in the last three years..." is highly promotional and not at all what is expected of an encyclopaedia entry, and the 'we' suggests that it has come from somewhere like the Dextra site. Unfortunately, I can't check this as the site appears to be down. Apart from this, college/university fests tend not to be notable outside the camnpus and I agreed with the lack of significance tagging. Referencing needs to be to reliable independent sources to show notability, and you linked to the fest's site (as I say, down when I tried it) and a general listing of all Indian fests. The own site is obviously not independent, and the other counts as a directory entry which will be based on information from the fest organisers. Oh, yes, I also detect a probable conflict of interest having seen the name of the secretary of the publicity unit - please read WP:COI. Peridon (talk) 09:57, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
