User talk:Sillyfolkboy/Thanks

Latest comment: 6 years ago by Chabirachabira in topic A barnstar for you!

Here are the barnstars I have been given by other editors. I hope this doesn't come across as some kind of trophy cabinet. Rather, it is intended to show that I do appreciate other people taking the time to thank/reward me for something I've done. All work and no thanks makes Jack a sad boy.

  The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
Looking through the Usain Bolt discussion page and edit history, it is obvious how much work you have put in to maintain it's quality. For that, I would like to award you this barnstar in recognition of your efforts! I only hope you do as much for other articles on wiki. Blooded Edge (TCA) 19:31, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

That's Ridiculous edit

It's not even funny. Thank you so so so much for your peer review for Avatar: The Last Airbender (season 2). It is very much appreciated, so much so that I can only do so with:

  The Invisible Barnstar
This barnstar is given in recognition of significant effort in improving articles; particularly in the area of atheletics. You are not afraid to ask for help or advice when you aren't sure if you are doing things right. Humility is an all-too-uncommon trait that is appreciated. Keep up the good editing. Here, you should have this... edit

  The Original Barnstar
Almost everytime I look in the history of articles relating to Liverpool F.C., there is Silkyfoxboy as I keep calling him in my head, reverting vandalism, correcting and updating statistics and generally improving the project. The sensible fixing of Dirk Kuyt after the content dispute was a perfect example. You deserve this! --Ged UK (talk) 08:17, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

DYK treble marathon? edit

The 50 DYK Creation and Expansion Medal
Well Sillyfolkboy I see that your name has appeared at the 70 DYKs position and you appear to have no 50 or even a 25 DYK badge. Now let me tell you that at the end of a half marathon many pause, at the end of a full marathon then a pause is traditional. I understand that some go on to do a double marathon, but then obviously rest. Wow! What do you say to athletes who do a double marathon and then go on to complete 70? Answer.... Well done and thanks from me and the wiki Victuallers (talk) 18:39, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

hi silly I see your cb for the "template:medal" I think you did a create work but it stills miss something that i wanna realy tell

you forgot to add all medal icon like continental medals (africa asia north america south america europe oceania) and also the event games medal like the olympics paralympics .................}} and thank you Elly mino (talk) 20:20, 29 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Elly mino: Thanks for the barnstar Elly. There are hundreds of different competitions that use this template so it makes more sense to leave the competition to manual entry. The idea for the medal template was to bring everything altogether in a simple to use template – creating short codes for hundreds of regional competitions probably isn't a very user-friendly approach. Cheers! SFB 22:13, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

  The Good Article Barnstar
Thanks for addressing the comments at the GA review for Track and field as well as for your work on the article before then. It is a very important article and the work to bring it up to GA quality benefits the whole of Wikipedia. Keep up the great work! Wugapodes (talk) 00:29, 14 January 2016 (UTC)Reply
Thanks Wugapodes. I didn't want your review to go to waste and they were all valid points. I know it can be very time-consuming to read through and review long articles, so I appreciate the effort from you too! SFB 01:15, 14 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

  The Brilliant Idea Barnstar
Hi. i love the athletics competitions. Thank you for your contribution, specially about the World Youth Championships. Do you have a page of danish sportsman and sportswoman? I live in Cuba. Untipoahi (talk) 15:37, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • @Untipoahi: Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy reading the articles - I enjoy writing them! The category system is a little known but useful way to find articles about different groups of people. You can see the categories a person's article has at the bottom of each page and you can use them to find similar people. For Danish athletes, you can explore what is on Wikipedia at Category:Danish athletes, or Category:Danish sportspeople if you want to look at all sports. The main limitation of the category view is that you only see people who have articles - some less famous people may be missing. Another problem is that the categories don't give you a description of who the person is - there is a helpful feature under Preferences-->Gadgets called Navigation Popups that can help with that too. Hope you find what you're looking for! SFB 16:23, 19 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
