Warning: Please do not remove maintenance tags

edit

Please do not remove maintenance notices from pages unless the required changes have been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of a page. Thank you. CrashingWave 21:17, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Signing of talk pages

edit

As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Wikipedia guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, and WikiProject pages. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then be automatically added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info, read Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. Dl2000 01:39, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mendelson Joe

edit

Regarding the editing of your material on Mendelson Joe, there were a number of issues involved with the text in question:

  1. The paragraph itself was too large and should have been divided into several paragraphs - please review WP:BETTER#Paragraphs;
  2. The statements had no supporting citations or references - please have a good look at Wikipedia:Verifiability, as Wikipedia policy generally requires assertions and other material to be traceable to reliable sources;
  3. There were a few cases within the paragraph of various uncited opinions (the last sentence, for example) - please have a careful look through the Wikipedia "no original research" and "neutral point of view" policies. The describing points of view essay may also help explain the concept.

That said, there is probably plenty of appropriate factual and encyclopedic material in there that would be useful for the Mendelson Joe article. The text can be restored to a talk page if you wish to do further work on it, but before putting it back into the article, it would need to be rewritten with respect to the core Wikipedia content policies of WP:V, WP:NPOV and WP:NOR. Regrets for the inconvenience, but hope this more detailed explanation about Wikipedia policy and practice is helpful. Dl2000 01:39, 7 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Draft page now available

edit

I restored the old paragraph at a new draft/work page. You can continue editing this at: Talk:Mendelson Joe/draft. Once the rewrite is ready, with outstanding issues resolved, the revised text can be added to the article.

I also left links in there to some of the Wikipedia policies and practices involved. If you need more help with any of this please let me know. My schedule can vary, but will try to reply as soon as practical. You can also check out WP:HELP for further guidance. Hope this is of assistance. Dl2000 01:10, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
