Orphaned non-free media (File:Marcel Leroux Chevalier de l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques 2002.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:Marcel Leroux Chevalier de l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques 2002.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:24, 1 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

If you'd care to read the reason why this file was uploaded, you'd realize this was the only way to defend the reputation of Professor Leroux against an unjust attack. ShowTimeAgainShowTimeAgain (talk) 05:09, 1 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on File:Marcel Leroux Chevalier de l'Ordre des Palmes Academiques 2002.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please rethink your approach edit

Your aggressive attitude toward another editor (William M. Connolley), e.g. [3], is unproductive. Please engage in a more civil manner.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 14:11, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

William M.Connolley gave a direct order to delete a page. I simply questioned his ability to have this order carried out by a delete admin.ShowTimeAgain (talk) 16:11, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
No, he didn't. And you didn't "simply question..." it, or I wouldn't be here.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 16:39, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Notice edit

You need to read up a bit about what type of communication is acceptable here. You seem to have a battleground attitude in regards to other editors and a tendency to get up on a soapbox. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Disagreeing is fine, we do it all the time. Taking an aggressive and incivil approach, however, it not acceptable. Disrupting Wikipedia to make a point is covered in WP:POINT, and the tolerance for it is quite low. If you want the deletion reviewed, take it to WP:DRV, but the disruption and combative attitude needs to stop, otherwise, you will end up being blocked to prevent further disruption. Pull back, have a tea, and figure out how to work in a collaborative way if you want to be a part of what we are trying to do here. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 17:33, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Leroux 2002 Palmes.jpg edit

A tag has been placed on File:Leroux 2002 Palmes.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the file is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
