Welcome edit

Hello Shim jb,

Welcome and enjoy Wikipedia. Your edits are much appreciated.

Be sure to check out Australian resources, like the Australia Portal, Australian Wikipedians' Notice Board, Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight, New Australian Articles and Australian stub articles. You can list yourself at Australian Wikipedians.

Also, assuming you're an Adelaidean, have you considered participating in WikiProject Adelaide? Help is always needed!

By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Preferably, use four tildes (~~~~), which produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page.

Again, welcome.--cj | talk 09:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I don't plan on doing much so I dont know how much use the tutorials will be to me - just thought it might be easier if i contributed to established articles.
Did I do anything specifically wrong that inspired you to message and give me those directions in the first place... or just being kind... sorry if that sounds rude but i would like to know if I have done something wrong.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Shim jb (talkcontribs) 19:20, 29 March 2006
No, you've done nothing wrong. I just noticed you editing some articles on my watchlist and saw that you were relatively new to the 'pedia. Not being aware of how familiar you were with Wikipedia, I mainly wanted to let you know about some resources that may be of use to you. I hope you decide to hang about. Happy editing, --cj | talk 09:56, 29 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks dude, much appreciated. Might ask you for some help one day if I want to make my profile as spiffy as yours, until then I think I'll just remain a spelling-grammar-minute facts fixer. No matter how hard I try or how hard I read them, there are so many things that I just can't figure out - and I am a bit of a technophobe (I can't for the life of me figure out what you mean by tildes!!!) so it's probably best that I settle in before making any serious contributions. Thanks for the friendly welcome.

I think you need to write more articles on kittens Decadencecavy 11:52, 20 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Iba the Farter Which reference would you like me to check, the first one from pages 69 through 90 or the one that you edited it to that is one page? As for Google, you're absolutely right. It's not the answer to everything, but is a good gauge of notability. Another good indicator is the number of other articles that reference the new article. In both cases we have no records. Feel free to scan the page in question and post it somewhere for proof. Until then, it will likely not last very long. If you want to really discuss the article, please do so on its talk pages. --Walter Görlitz 07:33, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

2009 Southeastern Australia heat wave edit

I see nothing for 40.6C in the list and Latest Weather Observations for Adelaide only shows 40.4C. Bidgee (talk) 08:26, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for interrupting but the 40.6C temperature can be found here Aaroncrick (Tassie Talk) 12:02, 1 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
