Hi Shikku27316, I am not very active in Wikipedia, but I still remember my flag project. I would be interested, which flags would you consider to change. You can send me e-mail on hosmich(at)gmail(dot)com and we will find better alternatives for ambiguous languages. Hosmich (talk) 10:09, 11 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi again, Shikku27316, I was working on my page and here is result: this and this. Now all languages of real (not Incubator) Wikipedia have at least one symbol (flag, CoA, seal or sinogram). You can write me disambiguational advices. Concerning the Incubator page, I have found bulk of flags or other symbols, but some languages seem to have none. You can give advices here too (there are some ambiguities). I would prefer use e-mail, but you can write me on User talk page. But if you write me e-mail, I will send you a novella written by me. Hosmich (talk) 16:45, 6 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
Are you willing to complete this page? You could include roundels with crosses (part 1) and subdivisions of some countries except Europe (part 3). Hosmich (talk) 14:41, 2 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Just a note edit

Hi, Shikku27316, you'll likely not be pleased about this but I have suppressed a number of your edits which reveal too much personally identifiable information about yourself. We have a policy of protecting editors' safety by hiding such information if they share it. I'm really sorry about having to suppress your edits, and I know it's annoying, but it's for the best. Please don't re-add the information. Thanks, and sorry for messing about with your pages! A fluffernutter is a sandwich! (talk) 00:30, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Hi, I just want to know... what all did you "suppress"? Just curious. Shikku27316 (talk) 17:38, 23 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

July 2013 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Homosexuality are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. - MrX 03:27, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Um, this might be a robomessage, but I was discussing something important. Sawrry. Shikku27316 (talk) 03:33, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Talk:Homosexuality, you may be blocked from editing. - MrX 03:30, 8 July 2013 (UTC) Itsnot disruptive. Shikku27316 (talk) 03:33, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

MrX was incorrect to remove your messages related to the article and give you warnings for them. I have restored your messages on the article talk page. 71.255.82.46 (talk) 04:27, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I noticed that you asked several questions on notability. MrX removed your questions but did not inform you of the notability guidelines. Here are the notability guidelines for referrence. 71.255.82.46 (talk) 07:05, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

  This is your only warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you make a personal attack, as you did with this edit to User talk:MrX. Amaury (talk) 03:40, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

How is that a personal attack?! I was talking about a concern I had. Gawd. --Shikku27316 (talk) 04:04, 8 July 2013 (UTC)`Reply
Amaury gave you a level 4 warning too quickly, but try to avoid personal attacks when voicing your concerns in the future. 71.255.82.46 (talk) 04:28, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
He also inappropriately deleted your message on the talk page of MrX, so you can try to rewrite it and also tell Amaury to stop deleting other people's messages on talk pages that are not his (something that he does often). 71.255.82.46 (talk) 04:42, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposal for cooperation edit

This is main part of e-mail I wrote to you.

  • Flags for Hindustani

I think File:Flag of India.svg is ideal for pan-Hindustani, because both Hindi and Urdu are spoken (somewhere officially) in India and if India included Islamabad, it would probably have the same flag. Also File:Flag of Pakistan.svg is good for Urdu, because if Pakistan included Hyderabad, it would have the same flag. Flags of Muhajirs or MQM are not good, because they don't cover Urdu speakers in India. BTW if Bangladesh included Calcutta, it would have the same flag, so File:Flag of Bangladesh.svg for Bengali is good too. The only variant with missing flag is thus Hindi in Devanagari. This flag of Uttar Pradesh is based on flag of Samajwadi Party, thus it is political and too Belarusian-like. I dislike it. OTOH this flag of Delhi is historical and probably not currently used. It even has metal on metal, but I know no better flag for Hindi (without letters). Do you dare to create something better, or I should prove?

  • Malay flags

Kris as pan-Malay symbol is very good, this flag could cover all Malay race, not only Malay speakers. (Maybe with modified kris?) Pentagon for Pancasila is also good for Indonesian. I received no feedback whether to use yellow upper or red lower pentagon (both are in SVG), but yellow upper is good, because this has yellow upper figure same like all three flags in this section. I insist on crescent, because 14-pointed star doesn't cover Brunei. Anyway, crescent is not exclusive Turkic symbol, it is on flags of Nepal, Croatia (first left) and Mikmaq, who are neither Turkic nor Muslim. In addition both Singapore and Brunei have crescent in flags, so it is good. BTW Singaporean stars are used here.

  • Help with a project

I know you are blocked on Commons, but you aren't blocked on English Wikipedia. Would you help me finish this page?

The first part is dead, I have no will to look for more twins. Maybe subsection "crosses in roundels" would be interesting (Switzerland and Portugal are listed, but Germany, Serbia and others not yet).

The second part is finished. I listed all I considered simple and recognizable enough for all sovereign countries. Map from these symbols is one of my low-priority goals (or dreams). BTW similar map can be made of simplest symbols from this list.

The third part is covering all countries with TLD and all subdivisions of European countries. Cities are being added individually, when they are interesting (e.g. Pula was listed here too.) Subdivisions of all countries were already "elaborated" (as for April 2014).

"Elaborate" is "to list symbols of subdivisions of particular country in suitable subsection. When all subdivisions (or great majority) have duplicated symbols, show several (2-4) of them, when only some symbols have, list their names and show several symbols." You will see already elaborated countries (search "some", "many", "provinces", "subdivisions", "of ..." etc.) and follow my style. When you feel you want not continue, write to me and tell me which countries did you elaborate.

  • My Imgur

http://hosmich.imgur.com/ and one gallery is hidden: http://imgur.com/a/e9BTC When my fast (lent) from deviantART is over, I want to submit some of them. But I expect some critique first. Could you tell me what is worthy to be submitted and what not? Flags of Chinese variants won't be submitted, they are already in ZIP file that is submitted.

  • Offline list of language symbols

The list of languages made by Michael Canov was recently added Kven, Talysh, Kikuyu and more languages. I elaborated these changes and uploaded my version of that list here. You didn't see the small clickable flags before, because they were links to local files in my computer. But I started to replace them by URL links and it is already done. When you click on small image, you get periodic table in that language. I am seriously planning to contact Mr. Canov and propose better flags for his list. (He uses flag of Calcutta Uprising for Malayalam, that is nonsense.) Until then we must choose "the best" flag for each language. But it is not priority for now. BTW similar list of counties of old Hungary is here. I didn't make anything with it after I created "schematic" flags of Slovakia. When will I return, I don't know.

Did you know meaning of French tricolor? Blue and red are from flag of Paris, white from royal banner of France. But I discovered another explanation:

  • Blue for "liberty": birds on blue sky and fish in water are free;
  • White for "egality": it is neutral and stands between equal blue and red;
  • Red for "fraternity": brothers have the same blood.

Do you know why American flag is blue, white and red? These colors you dislike as "pan-Slavic", but they can have more meanings. For Slovakia I can say it is pan-Slavic with red and white also from CoA of Upper Hungary. Red and white was even shortly Slovak bicolor (twin of Indonesia) before blue was added and white rearranged to top.

PS: Please reply whether you are willing to add files from these categories to categories for striped flags.

I started categorizing flags of municipalities of Colombia and this was not yet done. The Indian category is also full of striped flags that could have "striped" category. The default format is commons:Category:Flags_with_three_horizontal_stripes_of_blue,_red_and_yellow_color_combination with colors in alphabetical order or commons:Category:Horizontal_bicolor_black_and_red_flags for two stripes. Additional categories (e.g. for devices) try to consider yourself. If you are not willing to do it, you can give the work to another Wikimedian. I don't know many of them.
