Hello, Shifonf, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Need help...

edit

I know I still need to clarify citations in a few places, but how do I remove the title at the top of the page that flags the page as problematic? I've fixed all the plagiarism, bias, etc. But don't know how to remove flag. I've clicked on it, but directions are not clear. If anyone knows, please help! Thank you!Shifonf (talk) 22:50, 17 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi! I'm responding to the post on my talk page (and also this one). With the notification, the best place for this is actually the article's talk page. As far as the tags at the top of the page go, the best way to do this is to go into edit mode and click on the template. You can then press the backspace/delete button to remove it. Hi - I tried clicking on the link. It looks like it's working for me. Maybe it was just a glitch of some sort with Wikipedia that worked itself out? Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:50, 1 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I saw your message on my talk page - this, this, and this should be helpful when it comes to creating a new article. You don't need approval to start it, all you need is the desire to create it and the sourcing to establish notability. The sourcing is definitely vital, as we need to show where Stanly is independently notable outside of his relatives. Based on a quick Google search, however, it doesn't seem like that's really going to be a huge issue.

I'm really pleased that you want to continue editing - that's really awesome!! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:01, 3 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Stanly John Wright Tryon Palace.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Stanly John Wright Tryon Palace.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:30, 15 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

John Carruthers Stanly moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, John Carruthers Stanly, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Uh where did my article go? There is no link here:

"I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption."

I feel cut off from my article now. Can you help me get back to it? Shifonf (talk) 23:28, 6 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi Shifonf. Your article is at Draft:John Carruthers Stanly. You can always find the pages you've edited by clicking on the "Contributions" link at the top of every page. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:52, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Note, there's also a separate article with more content at John Carruthers Stanly * Pppery * it has begun... 00:06, 9 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
