Hello, I'm Belbury. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Kasia Madera, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Belbury (talk) 19:49, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello again?

edit

It looks like we might have met before under a different username of yours. Starting a new Wikipedia account is fine under WP:CLEANSTART, but it's not entirely appropriate to edit the same articles in the same kinds of ways, introducing some of the same problems that you'd previously been asked to be more careful about. If you are the user I've spoken to before, you should consider all of the old talk page notices and advice to still apply. Belbury (talk) 21:57, 29 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Edith Bowman. Dates of birth need sources. Belbury (talk) 14:06, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Weak biography sourcing

edit

I understand that you say that ToryFan64188 is your friend who shared their account password with you and worked on the same articles as you, but please take a look at User_talk:ToryFan64188#Weak biography sourcing and also try to follow the advice I gave that user, which you are also in breach of.

You should not be using Companies House for celebrity birth dates, per WP:BLPPRIMARY. Belbury (talk) 14:20, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

You should not be using Companies House for celebrity birth dates, as you did at Kasia Madera, Donna Traynor and Isabel Oakeshott.

Showing that a Polish news site may be unreliable for Madera's date of birth is fine, but the correction should only go into the article if it can be demonstrated with better secondary sources. If we have an unreliable Polish news site and your personal research combining Companies House with a photo in a tweet, Wikipedia cannot publish Madera's birthdate in a way that satisfies WP:BLPPRIMARY, it should simply be omitted.

Please also note that naming the minor children of celebrities is against policy per WP:NONAME. --Belbury (talk) 10:46, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Victoria Derbyshire, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Good Morning Britain. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Incorrect use of minor edits check box

edit

Hi Shezfrez62! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. -- Ponyobons mots 17:30, 8 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

You're still marking the bulk of your edits as "minor", including edits that are introducing new facts to biographical articles. Please only tick this box if you are making genuinely minor typo and markup corrections, or reverting vandalism. --Belbury (talk) 08:17, 25 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Use of reliable sources

edit

Note that I've reverted your edits to Alison Hammond as they were sourced to HELLO!, which consensus has determined is not a reliable source (see here and here for example).-- Ponyobons mots 17:24, 9 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

edit

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Michael Ball, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Barnes.

Grammar

edit

Please do not continue to make changes such as this. The word "couple" is a singular noun, and "has" is (generally) correct in this instance.-- Ponyobons mots 16:24, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

And again, as mentioned to you by multiple editors, your use of minor edit is incorrect and misleading. Please stop marking edits that add or change information as minor, they are not.-- Ponyobons mots 16:26, 26 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Tabloid sources

edit

WP:DAILYSTAR and WP:DAILYEXPRESS are not considered reliable sources by Wikipedia.

Please check the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources list before quoting a tabloid newspaper about a person's private life. Belbury (talk) 09:17, 6 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • You continue to add or change biographical information in articles using poor sources. In some cases, such as your edits here, your changes actually contradict the reliable sources in the article. This cannot continue. Please use this time to really read through and try to absorb WP:RS and WP:BLP, both of which are fundamental to how Wikipedia works.-- Ponyobons mots 21:08, 6 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Blocked

edit

Hi, I have been blocked from editing Wikipedia which I am rather annoyed about, a lot of these 'tabloid' sources were made by a friend using my device/account, my friend also was the person that wrote "Hiya, I'm Shezza Booza!!!". I would really like to be unblocked from editing Wikipedia as I personally feel I haven't done anything wrong and I don't think it's fair I've been blocked because of something that was done by someone else, I'm not even allowed to create a new account!!

If you could sort this out I would be hugely grateful. TIA. Shezfrez62 (talk) 16:24, 10 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you don't think you've done anything wrong, then it's important that the block remain in place as you clearly don't understand our policies regarding multiple accounts. You say that "I'm not even allowed to create a new account", which implies that you've tried to create another account since being blocked and have either hit an autoblock or a direct block on your IP to prevent exactly that. You cannot edit under any IP or create new accounts while this block is in place. If you do so, it will be increasingly difficult to convince an admin to accept your appeal. If you would like to appeal the block, follow the directions in your block message; I strongly suggest you read the Guide to Appealing Blocks before doing so.-- Ponyobons mots 22:45, 12 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
