November 2009 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. BLARE magazine is only going to get negative response if you and others keep adding the site to pages (incorrectly) as advertising, people will get ticked off and remove the site on the spot. If the site hasn't got enough notoriety so much so that it has to have a few people add it for them, then it probably shouldn't be used on Wikipedia. kiac. That's not the point, you're account is clearly a single-use advertising only account. And that is grounds for a ban from Wikipedia. This is not the place for the site to advertise or attempt to gain notoriety. kiac. (talk-contrib) 01:42, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

March 2010 edit

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. kiac. 1. Bands do not decide what should and should not be on "their" Wikipedia pages. 2. If you don't receive "that many views", what makes you think you are even relevant to Wikipedia and its other editors/readers? (I have never seen a WP editor post your reviews, besides IPs and yourself which clearly have a biased Conflict of Interest). 3. I understand you believe you have good intentions, that is again, not grounds to go around advertising your website by posting links. 4. "include it on their Wikipedia page so it can stand out as it is a professional review" - something being on Wikipedia does not make it a notable or professional review, to be featured on Wikipedia it should first be professional and notable. Where are these bands that are encouraging your work? Is it private? kiac. (talk-contrib) 11:05, 26 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

In regards to views I meant we don't receive many from these links. Blare is a professional publication as it has business relationships with the major record labels in Canada as well as others across the United States and United Kingdom. If you took a look at our Wiki page and website - www.blaremagazine.com - you would notice we aren't an average website trying to make a quick dollar as we do feature popular artists of all genres. Our intentions is to provide Canada with a credible source which music readers can acknowledge. We may not be The Toronto Star and cover mainstream pop idols like television stations such as MuchMusic and MTV, but our entire publication is built on professionalism because if it wasn't, we wouldn't be where we are.

... and where you? Finally big enough to promote yourselves on Wikipedia? That's all good and well it's not doing anything for the fact that you adding your website to Wikipedia articles is violating multiple policies and is totally out of line. kiac. we've been making contributions since day one and we are a reputable source for reviews as we don't steal releases from illegal sites or services and actually receive them from professional record labels. i'm not trying to argue but you keep blasting the website. just because we're not Rolling Stone or Pitchfork we can't support an artist by sharing a review with their fans? music fans of all ages look for reviews of albums because it's interesting to read and can sway their opinion on whether they should purchase the disc, so why can't they see the review BLARE uses to support the artist of their choice? Orphaned non-free media (File:BLARE Official Logo.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading File:BLARE Official Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:07, 28 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Blare Magazine edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Blare Magazine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. STATic message me! 19:40, 16 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
