Hello, Shepherd660506, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as Trentprof (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Please note that in response to this the article Cogewea has been protected, you are welcome to propose and discuss changes on the talk page, but as wikipedia works by consensus, there will need to be agreement from other editors here. Incorrect accusation

edit

The edits are not coordinated with anyone. There is not multiple accounts. Just malicious attacks by a vindictive editor. I did tweet that the page is incorrect but my public assertion did not ask anyone to edit. Trentprof (talk) 00:40, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your message on my talk page and for explaining the situation. You might still want to read the policy about recruiting editors who agree with one another to understand why this is not encouraged. It is always great to have people with expertise seek to contribute to wikipedia and I hope you will contribute to a wide range of articles. I would recommend it is best to start with topics that you know about but do not necessarily have any vested interest or specific agenda in editing, particularly in order to gain experience in how the community and editing here works. While at times some of them can sometimes seem counterintuitive, the policies are what keeps this community of volunteers working relatively well. I will add the welcome template below this message which will give you links to some of the core guidelines and policies, so please take some time to read them and if you have any questions feel free to ask. With the article Cogewea (and indeed any other articles about which you might be seen to have a conflict of interest or are at all controversial), the best thing to do is to discuss proposed edits on the talk page first and seek to gain consensus with other editors. Finally, a minor point, but when you add a new message to a talk page as you did on mine, it should go at the bottom of the page rather than the top. Cheers, Melcous (talk) 14:01, 30 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
