Shaving Soap edit

Hi Shavely - Regarding the Colgate image, I do have some suggestions on how it can improve the article. Firstly, it would be good to attempt to figure out when and where that image came from and if it is in the public domain. If it is, then I would recommend posting it on wikicommons which can act as a repository for the image. From there, I think it might be a good image to actually include in Shaving soap itself. Also, I'm not sure that the image is representative of illustrating the time period of shaving sticks, since there is no real statement of the date, aside from what someone wrote in the Badgerandblade wiki. The idea would be to find an authoritative, free image that illustrates the point. Pointing to badgerandblade is at best, blatant advertising a forum, and at worst, a drain of their bandwidth. Hope that helps... I'm sure there's some good free images out there. I'll start looking. Chromatikoma (talk) 23:23, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • I've actually changed it twice since I wrote this. I originally found a Duke archive of a pre-1923 Colgate Shaving Stick ad (thus public domain), but I've since changed it to a reference from 1849 for Pear's Transparent Shaving Stick. See what you think Chromatikoma (talk) 17:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
