Hi

edit

It was my pleasure to help you :-)! I want you to know that you don't stand alone when you're dealing with rude people. As for your English, you are too modest. I think your English is brilliant and I have been thinking of telling you so! I'd also love to meet you in person one day, and as for Norse mythology, I'll be your teacher anytime :-).--Wiglaf 07:35, 21 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Greetings

edit

Hi Shauri, thank you for the kind words on my Talk page - it is my pleasure to meet you. I am very impressed by the edits that you have made over at Texas Ranger Division. In my first read-through, it seems nearly perfect. I see that Katefan is also workign on it. Between the two of you, I think it is nearly perfect, but I will read it more carefully this weekend and see if I can make any improvements. Thanks again for your great contributions. Adminship

edit

Dear Shauri! I wonder if I would have the honour of nominating you for admin. Your well-documented social skills and your determined work on moving pages to FA status make you a natural admin candidate. I hope that I will have the priviledge of being the one that nominates you.--Wiglaf 09:50, 22 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

An excellent call Wiglaf! I second the nomination...and if someone's beat me to it, I third it! --R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 11:01, 29 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

E-mail

edit

I don't mean to bug you, you don't have to reply to it, but considering how unreliable the Wikipedia e-mail feature seems to be, I've got to ask: did you get my message? Bishonen | talk 07:30, 1 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for putting up the Mainpage date template. Looks like you had a lot to do with its becoming a FA in the first place so, congratulations. --hydnjo talk 02:18, 23 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Texas Rangers-RNC

edit

RE: Your note that the Texas Rangers are the oldest law enforcement agency and the RNC is the oldest police force. Not only does that sound good to me, but it is historically correct and I edited the RNC page as such saying that they are the oldest civil police force. Jcmurphy 03:02, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Nomination for admin

edit

It is my pleasure to tell you that you are now nominated for admin.--Wiglaf 09:31, 25 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Whichever way this vote goes. Just continue the great work, don't change you great attitude, and you will be an admin before Christmas. You deserve it.--Wiglaf 09:15, 26 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
I'll echo Wiglaf's words. I think you're a fine editor. You will be an admin on the next nomination if this one fails. I'm quite sure of that. This one's an almost pass as it is right now (17/6/1). I think all the oppose votes get down to a basic point; wanting to see the contribution pattern of activity continue for a while before voting support. Nobody has raised any other serious objection, nor should there be one.
I was very disheartened by this quote from you "it gives me the impression that all I did at WP was worth nothing" Please, please, please do not take statements on an RfA as condemnation of your efforts. I've been following WP:RFA for several months now, and I've never seen a voter attack someone. If someone makes an oppose or neutral vote, there is usually a strong explanation and some direction to take from it on how to improve. Even if you infer something negative from a voter, please remember; they are just one person among more than 440,000 registered users and there are millions more that are not registered. That's a butterfly's voice in a windstorm. Have patience, know that you do good work and be happy about it, and always strive to improve even if people think you're perfect! Spring-heeled Jack

edit

Dear Shauri

First, thanks for the generous comments on my talk page, which I appreciate, though frankly I'm not sure they're really deserved.

As I said on the talk page for Spring-heeled Jack, I'm very pleased you are making time to revise your article. I can understand that you must feel tired of the whole subject after putting so much work into the piece already - indeed it's largely for that reason that I've steered clear thus far of writing in any detail on my own main interests for Wikipedia.

Please do feel free to come back to me for any additional material you may feel you need, and ask any questions you want. I believe strongly in sharing all my research and material, as it's only in this way that accurate coverage of any subject is to be achieved. Simply publishing a paper in a hard-to-find journal such as Fortean Studies (print run 2,500 copies) has not advanced understanding of SHJ much if at all in almost a decade, and a really accurate, well-informed article on a forum such as Wikipedia will make more difference more quickly than anything I'm likely to achieve on my own. Don't be disheartened - you're already pretty close to getting it right, after all.

Good luck with your editing over the weekend. I and I'm sure many others greatly appreciate all your efforts. Mikedash 20:52, 29 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hola!

Hey, Felicidades! :) By the way, algún parentesco con Alejandro Sanz? Digo, ya que el también es español. :) --Sebastian Kessel Talk 15:28, 3 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
